The knee pads isn't that bad. You only see it for a split second at the end of the scene because her skirt rides up.

It was definitely filmed on a sound-stage in Los Angeles because my sister has a box set of an old Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen sitcom called 'Full House' and they preceded the use of the stage until it ended and 'Friends' came about.

I know there is a man from NYC who bangs on about how its his apartment they show from the outside,so maybe he is cashing in on it,bit like some bloke named Kramer who Larry David based Kramer from Seinfeld on has cashed in massively from it

I was in New York last month and made a point of going to see the Friends building.

It looks a lot smaller in real life. There is a restaurant underneath (which you can see in the show, it's blue) however when we went in to get a coffee, we were told they only sold meals and were not a cafe. Talk about a major missed opportunity, they must have dozens of tourists every day asking for coffee! There was actually no reference to Friends what-so-ever that I could see. It was still cool though.

Why didn't Monica, Chandler, or anyone really comment and on how Ross was at table 6 when there was obviously some random kid sitting at table 1?

In one of the Barbados bedroom scenes the camera is zoomed out too much and you can actually see the top of the sound stage etc.

And speaking of barbados, how the hell was that hotel set up? Rachels room had a door against a long corridor to the right, with a window to the back, and a adjoining door to Monica and Chandlers room to the left. Monica and Chandler had the same but opposite. This could have been feesable if the hotel was a big U shape with the doors to either end joining, but that couldn't have been cause Ross' room was to the right of M&Cs :confused::confused:

In the episode with Rachels going away party Phoebe says 'as if they'd let me have a passport' ... did she illegally go to Barbados then?

How did they always manage to fly in what looked like business class too?

Monica was upset at Rachel trying to steal her thunder after her engagement, but she didn't seem to care that she came out as pregnant to her and phoebe on her wedding day.

How did no one continue to recognise Phoebe as a porn star? I know she 'busted' Ursula for it but the porn is still out there!

Is this on the new HD versions?

I've noticed you can see the edge of the set a lot more on those ones, since they re-edited them in widescreen where they originally didn't expect the full shot to appear on TV.

It's noticeable a lot during shots of Monica's apartment door, the wall to the left opens out at a weird angle like a flap.

Cool pic, thanks for sharing! It is a shame that Central Perk isn't actually there, maybe it's just too cheesy for cool NYC

BIB that always annoyed me too, mainly because I hate economy and was jealous

    Marvelous gripes ! Good work!!
That bothered me too with Ross at the table he was best man so at some point wouldn't he have done a speech? Unless he went up on the stage for it.
Nice touch having Ben at the table though.

I guess with the pregnancy/stealing the thunder she thought it was Phoebe first and appreciated that Rachel had gone to great lengths to keep it a secret? Although why the heck did Rachel do and leave a pregnancy test in Monica's bathroom in the first place?!

Oh one more I thought of, in the one with Emma's birthday when Joey is trying to latch on to the Gellers present Jack looks at him confused and says "which one are you?"
That kinda joke was funny back in the early series but at that point "the other one" would be Chandler (or Chauncey!) who was now married to his daughter. Who else could Jack have thought Joey was...

How Monica managed to get away with living in the apartment for so long ILLEGALLY, in her dead grandmother's name always baffled me.

In earlier seasons, the girls apartment had a buzzer, Paul the wine guy was buzzed in, as was Julie at one point but it was never used or seen again after then.

    That's not the same though.

Monica was the one who caused all the drama in the thunder episode. When she saw Rachel and Ross kissing she presumed they were getting back together and the news would steal thunder from her engagement. When really, no one would have known if she didn't fly off the handle.

With the wedding, she didn't announce it to everyone and it was just between the three girls in the bathroom.

Yes it was, in Season 4 when Phoebe buzzed in the owner of the restaurant that Monica had slated in her review,

Characters and stories would disappear quite a bit. Carol and Susan would appear quite often in the first 4 seasons. They both last appeared together in the episode that could've been - where Ross and Carol had invited Susan to engage in a threesome (which ended up being a ''twosome'' ;)) Carol only appeared once more after that in the episode where Ben was pranking people.

The chick and duck last appeared in season 6 and were heard by Joey gagging on Rachel's face cream in season 7. They were never referenced again until the final episode.

Phoebe's birth mother last mentioned in the episode where she sends Phoebe a mink fur coat. Also, her dad who showed up and was never talked about again.

Ben is the main one though. Ross' son who appeared regularly. Last appeared in season 8 when Phoebe wanted Sting tickets. (Ben's moms are ''lesbinims'') He never once appeared on-screen with his half-sister Emma or ever again.

Of all the houses in all of upstate New York, Janice just happened to be looking at the house next door to Monica & Chandler.

Another Janice gripe, when Chandler 'moved' to Yemen, and he said his address was 'Yemen Road, Yemen', not even Janice would believe something as silly as that.

Didn't like how they kept wheeling out Janice either. When Rachel was in labour was funny but they didn't need her at the fertility clinic and house as well.

One episode that annoyed me was when Monice had a massive reaction to Chandler not liking her massages. What a drama queen! Chandler should have run at that point, before he got in too deep

He knew what she like before they got together.

I have to agree with a few of the posters who liked Phoebe the least out of all the character's. She was often bitchy and rude, but the worst thing throughout the whole series, IMO, was how Monica acted in the run up to Phoebe's wedding. Absolutely disgusting and I thought so out of character. Even though she is a perfectionist she would never have ruined a friends rehearsal dinner that way and acted like such a brat on the morning of her wedding!

Completely agree, watching that episode a while ago I said I'd have slapped her.

One thing I've noticed watching them back, is the Friends going to events.

In season one, Monica and Ross's Nana died, and all the friends went to the funeral, even though they didn't seem to know her. Maybe this one's just me, but why would they all go to the funeral?

Also in season 2, Jack Gellar is having a birthday party. Monica goes with Richard (who she has just started dating) and has the job of telling her parents they are together. Ross is dating Rachel at the time too, but doesn't bring her. She wasn't doing anything special to warrant missing the party, infant her and Phoebe were only getting tattoos! So why wouldn't Rachel go too?

Also I know age has been mentioned, but here's another: Joey stating in late season one he is 25. Jump to mid season 2 he says he 28!

Also why on earth were Monica and Richard at Barry and Mindy's wedding??

I'd assume the Gellers, Rachel, Richard, Barry and Mindy were all from the same area in Long Island. Barry was an orthodontist so perhaps it's not outside the realms of possibility that he'd invite eye-doctor Richard to his wedding. Perhaps that's how those families were all supposed to have known each other as Rachel's father was a doctor too.

    Just finished re-watching season 5.

The "identical hand twin" surely has to be the worst idea of the whole series? Admittedly, without that storyline Joey would have nothing to do in The One In Vegas, but couldn't they have thought of something, anything better than that?
