While I could never agree that Rose is 'more important' than other companions, nor would I suggest she was my favourite (despite the fact I quite like her, and am more interested in Piper coming back than Tennant, and respectively would rather see Eccleston or Catherine Tate come back) I think she will always be the one who is the 'big deal'. She is the Susan of the younger generation that has been growing up on the revived series, and for many the first companion they saw (be it alongside Eccleston or Tennant).
Most viewers have one regeneration they can refer to as 'MY Doctor'. And I think for a great many Rose is the 'MY companion'.
Personally I don't mind her coming back... a lot of people complain that she just keeps coming back, but this is only her second comeback really. She returned the Series 4 story, and her appearance in the End of Time was only momentary and set pre-Series 1 as well. I'm all up for seeing Tyler again
While I don't mind Rose returning, but I was never fan of the whole "Bad Wolf" thing. I always thought it was a bit weak of an arc, It was a little too Deus ex Machina with foreshadowing that seemed very out of place at times, and I always felt the phrase "Bad Wolf" itself was lackluster at best.
When I say that, I mean that the phrase never actually has much of an impact on the characters. In "The Parting of Ways", Rose notices the phrase has been reoccurring during her travels with the Doctor, but it doesn't actually do anything for her, yes, she decides to break into the TARDIS, "Bad Wolf" didn't have much to do with that. I'm certain that even if she didn't notice it, she still would have done that.
In the episode itself, "Bad Wolf" Rose is confident, and doesn't give up, and while those are good traits, I felt that the highs for her in this episode seemed a bit hollow without any lows. I think it would have been better had Rose had given up, got lost in the hopelessness of her situation, before "Bad Wolf" restored her faith in returning to the Doctor. Instead, "Bad Wolf" was really just a reminder of something she had already decided.
If they do decide to use Bad Wolf again, I hope it's something more than a magical fix-it plot device.
How many are being brought back for the 50th Anniversary story?
The only one that counts.
The only one who counts ... on her fingers.
Sorry, but Rose is no more important a companion than Dodo, Mel or Adric, and less important than a lesser known companion like Katarina, who did actually sacrifice herself to save the Doctor in "The Dalek Masterplan".

The "bad wolf" meme was almost identical to what we just had with Clara placing herself throughout the Doctor's timeline. In the case of Bad Wolf, Rose placed those "signs" throughout time after looking into the eye of the Tardis - she was therefore able to manipulate events in time without necessarily being present at each event.
As with Clara's presence in the Doctor's timeline - the fact that we (the audience) haven't previously seen the earlier Doctor's coming across "bad wolf" doesn't mean it didn't happen - so it's possible that either of those instances of mucking about with history is directly connected to the existence of whatever John Hurt's "Doctor" turns out to be.
Oh - and Rose's "comeback" for the 50th is potentially a brilliant idea (if handled well). Regardless of what us old-farts may think, the principal audience for DW now are almost entirely connected to the 2005+ series and for many of them, Rose is as much a part of the show as the Daleks or the Tardis. Besides, Billie Piper helped make the show such a massive success in 2005 onwards so giving her character a few more minutes of airtime is a fair price to pay for putting DW back at the top of the BBC's output.
Rose is what I'm looking forward to most about The Day of the Doctor, and seeing Bad Wolf on the poster is the first time in a long time that I've felt a thrill of excitement over Doctor Who.

This is the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who, not the Rose Tyler show. But once again, GREAT casting there Moffat...we get the Rose (and her little buddy 10) show overshadowing everything.

Don't knock it yet- you never know, maybe she will be killed off for good?
Possibly time-locked in a pit of veomous snakes, spiked walls closing in, with 2 broken legs.....
WOAHA HA HA HA HA!!!:D

With the exception that Clara's appearance, being that the Doctor is aware of it, is a driver for the action in a way that Bad Wolf never was.
The whole recurrence of 'Bad Wolf' had no effect on the plot at all, only on the viewers' curiosity. Instead of scattering a phrase throughout time, she might as well just have sent a single message of "Open the TARDIS and help the damn Doctor already. Love, Uber-Rose."
I'm expecting this instance of Bad Wolf to be much the same. A neat little nod to raise interest, but not significant.
Bad Wolf might just be the "way in", or like a secret tunnel wormhole thingy, into the Time War or something (however they explain it). So it could act like a way in ( and possibly out) as a plot device to get the time war action going....
It's always amazing how people can confuse "something/one I don't like" with "something/one no one likes".
And they're so easy to wind up too. All you have to do is, say, declare someone to be the "most important Companion ever" and watch them go. Pavlov would be proud.

Nobody's said that no one likes her. Merely refuted your hyperbole that she's the most important companion, which you admit was designed to wind people up.
There's only one poster with a chip on their shoulder here.

I think not.
Why is she more important that any other companion in the show's 50 year history?
I hope that was sarcasm.
She got to keep her own Doctor at home.

Chesterton might be in it. He's on a sign anyway.

Completely agree! Nice to see some positivity

The hell she is. Only shows that the Moff is out of ideas to dig up that old canard again.
