Europa League tie live on ESPN now.

Most players are wearing hats, scarves, gloves and leggings.

Day off work today so surprised to see this on live at this time of day.

Why is it being placed in Moscow and in early afternoon I assume Kazan is even colder.

Didnt know that once it gets to -15 a team can request the game be postponed.

Twente didnt want to play they will be glad they did now:D

I don't recall seeing players wear hats during a game apart from goalkeepers.

Does seem a lot but clearly very cold so fair enough.

i always think that players get ridiculously pilloried for even wearing gloves by some folk ( including pundits ) in this country.

If you are more comfortable absolutely fair enough. And it's absolute rubbish stuff like ahh they should just learn to run around more. Most cross country runners wear gloves on cold winter days, because it's err sensible.

Rubin Kazan always sounds to me like a bad Bond villain. Or a magical incantation used by Harry Potter.

It was ridiculous to play under those circumstances.
Temperature dropped to -21c during the game.
I read that FC Twente spent 250 euros per player on gear like thermo underwear and hot packs. They even consulted marathon speed skaters who are used to low temperatures.

    I'm glad my team won.

    Home advantage is the norm.

So they spent about €4,000. If their marketing department has brains they will have made €100,000+ out of extra advertising income..
