Without some form of internet connection your WiFi is going to be somewhat limited in use.
Unless of course you live close to a public WiFi hotspot and can subscribe to that. In that way someone else is paying for the internet connection and in effect renting it out to you. |

I think Virgin Media offer an Internet connection with wifi without having to pay line rental. This is because their Internet uses fiber optics rather than a telephone line. However, you need to be in a cabled area.
Is this what you're asking for? |

If you do live in a wifi area, try a Belkin or a Netgear Wifi dongle.
All it does is pick up wifi, so there's only a one of charge and then you just use the available wifi. Of course, if you don't live in wifi area, it's pretty much useless. I'm lucky, I live in a public wifi zone and get decent speeds.

If you are in a Virgin media area "All you need is a Virgin Media Super Hub, which is included with all our broadband packages."
30Mb £11.25 a month for 3 months (that's three months half price) then £22.50 a month No need for a Virgin Phone line with this option ////////////////////////////////////////////// 30Mb £7.25 a month that's half price for 6 months then £14.50 a month Online exclusive - £30 off Plus a Virgin Phone line for £13.90 a month http://store.virginmedia.com/broadba...nd/index.html# BT's cheapest is 16meg (10GB cap) £13 FREE for 6 monthsº + Line rental from £10.75. (Evening & Weekend Calls included) So no line rental separately billed with Virgin but it gets paid, Virgin BB if they sold it separately is priced as £14.50, BT BB as £13.90 so even with the line rental of £8 virgin is £1.50 cheaper and faster at £22.50. |

Op you could do with letting the forum know where you want the connection. Is this when you are out and about or at home? In which case wifi out and about is in loads of places. If you go in any McDonald's you can get free wifi. If you have sky tv and broadband you can log onto the cloud wifi and find thousands of wifi hotspots around the uk.

It's been 4 days since the OP, I'm guessing they've been unsuccessful so far.
