    My absolute favourite is Friends.

"'Til Death Us Do Part" hasn't been mentioned yet, that's certainly up there for me, along with the usual "Fawlty Towers", Steptoe and Son", and "Dad's Army" before it went on too long and started to get silly.

Not a great fan of American comedy shows generally, with the exception of "The Simpsons" which was absolute genius for many years, but also has now just gone on too long.
    :)

    Someone said 'Bread'

It's bad enough saying "On the Buses" but "Bread":eek::eek:

    My top ten:

    Blackadder (S2 to S4)
    Fawlty Towers
    Only Fools and Horses
    Frasier
    The Simpsons

    gap

    Porridge
    Yes Minister/Prime Minister
    Cheers
    Dad's Army
    Drop the Dead Donkey

I suspect Gavin and Stacey will come close in time, and I suspect Mongrels will as well if they keep the mark established in its first series - I like to give a little time to such things.

If these count - and they aren't really comedy/sitcom, then you have to include:

    NTNOCN
Saturday Night Live (patchy, but in its early days produced great stuff)

    has no one said

    The young ones
    Rossiter's Reggie Perrin?

Never shown now, but the Kenny Everett Video Show on Thames was ground breaking comedy and well liked in its day.

As a kid it would have to be different strokes and saved by the bell, metal mickey can go in too.

As an adult, only fools, outnumbered, keeping up appearences, family guy, simpsons, inbetweeners, brittas empire and little britain.
