    *Not actually Madonna songs.

Aha, this is the X Factor, where they think Led Zeppelin and Peggy Lee are guilty pleasures, and Kelly Clarkson is a musical hero.

If they have Madonna week, Cher will probably do Jay-Z anyway.

Still both highly associated with her, and considering we had Kim Wilde on American Anthems week and everyone's favourite Dutch Number 1 during number 1's week, Covers by Madonna which reached Number 3 and Number 1 here aare not even close to stretching the rules.

I wouldn't consider either of those songs to be 'highly associated with her', and the American Pie cover was shit.

    Good point.

I could actually see Cher doing 'Me Against The Music' then, all on her own.

    There's a kinda-sorta-rap there too.

Maybe you wouldn't, but considering American Pie is a fairly recent number 1 hit, and most people won't really be aware of any other version of Don't Cry for Me Argentina, I think it's a fair comment to say they are highly associated with Madonna.

No need to try and cause an argument. I never said she had the better version or the best versions, just that people know she sings them.

I would really love to hear Matt or Rebecca's version of 'Like A Prayer'

Also Aiden's 'Frozen' might be good aswell.

Actually I've changed my mind about Frozen.

Not Aiden, but Mary. It would all tie in with Tesco, and the videoscreen could feature moody shots of Fish Fingers and Captain Birdseye.

    Wagner - Erotica

If you listen it sounds like...

"Bill Oddie, Bill Oddie, put your hands all over my body"

Maybe he could guest star with Wagner?

    You don't say..

Britney week, Ruth Lorenzo sang 'I Love Rock N' Roll', so I think they'd get away with it. ;)

Plus, when have the themes actually mattered this year? :)

Yeah, that 'Britney' cover was a cop-off.

You gotta give what you get! :D

And I think you meant cop out, cop off means something entirely different. :o

I am always shocked that the X Factor nor American Idol have ever had a Madonna week, probably because she hasn't licensed her catalogue to them. She did with Glee though.

Who do u think would sing what?

    I think for me:

    Mary - You'll See
    Aiden - Live To Tell
    One Direction - Holiday
    Rebecca - Like A Prayer
    Cher - American Life
    Matt - Crazy For You
    Wagner - Who's That Girl
    Katie - Rain
    Paije - Take A Bow

Mary would be great doing You'l See

I think they'd do what they always do - sing what they want and find some lame tie to the theme. Enter Louis with his rule book lol

Wagner - Beautiful Stranger or the Beast Within (for comedy value alone)

When you think about it, only really Madonna, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Elvis, Abba, Elton John and maybe Prince have a back catalogue big and diverse enough to fit a theme week.
