  Maybe, although Mikey has always had a jealous streak in him with regards to Rex.
  
  Mikey saw himself as the comedian with the one liners and straight forward attitude. He went into the house and found someone who was 10 times better at it, and has riches and a lifestyle to match.

  They do have plenty in common....they're both rude, obnoxious loudmouths for a kick-off.
  
  I think there is an element of jealousy on Mikey's part and Rex is irritated by Mikey's refusal to pay him what he believes is due homage. Maybe they'll be frens when the carnival is over.
