When you have an idea for a tattoo that you want. How do you go about getting it done?

Do you have to print it out, or describe it to the tattooist? The tattoo I want is a quote that is quite personal to me with a specific font.

I know this is a ridiculous question considering I already have 4 tattoo's already.

I don't think it's a ridiculous question at all! Why don't you make a rough sketch of what you want done and take it to the artist. It's always a good idea to have a consultation anyway. You can go through his/her portfolio and discuss the style you'd like too. Then he/she'll draw up a template for you to see before any work is started. You already have tattoos so I probably don't need to say this, but don't be afraid to be "picky" about it - you're the one that has to live with it!

I forgot to say, that you can go online and pick out a font and print it out if you wish, although I think you'll find the tattoo studio will have them online for you to look at too. Just let them know the name of the font you want.

Spend some time looking at various artists in your area as each of them will be fine but will have an area of specialisation such as tribal/old school/photo realistic etc so spend some time working on what you want it to look like and don't be afraid to turn up and have a chat as they'd rather not tattoo someone who then regrets it and moans

If you want a laugh look out for "tattoo nightmares" it should help you loads as you'll get to see loads of f---up's of every kind
