not a bad appointment McCarthy, is a far better manager than a lot of people give him credit foras he has a decent record in getting teams promoted .

Good luck to him as he's going to have a very tough job keeping them up this year on the evidence so far.

As he is managing Blackburn, that is a good assumption!

    I've always like McCarthy.
He's a straight talker and free of the BS you get from a lot of mangers.
Not one of the best managers around, but a good solid one nevertheless!
Always had a soft spot for Ipswich as well (Norwich too btw) so i hope things go well.

He's nicked most of his ex-Wolves staff and appointed Terry Connor. Mick is a man who likes to keep the status quo.

    Most managers do that.

I am delighted that Ipswich won yesterday. I live in Ipswich currently and I work match days also at the club and I wish Mick McCarthy, the fans and the players all the best. I hope this is the first of many wins.

When Mick came to Wolves he left most of the backroom staff intact.

So what are you saying here, he is a man that like to keep the status quo or not ? :D

He did before and he didn't this time and neither is that unusual. i guess depends for instance on how he has gelled with any backroom staff.

My biggest criticism of Mick is that he has become set in his ways, hence getting all his old staff in. I can almost predict the players he will sign for Ipswich and the ones he'll get rid of.

    Unlikely

I think he'll keep em up and they will challenge for promotion next season.

If they do go down I think he'll bring them straight back up

No. I bet he gets Ipswich either promoted or very close within 3 years.
