Rock'n'roll -week 11

Does anybody know what format the rock'n'roll dance will take? I'm guessing (as an old club dancer) that a full-on modern routine with lifts and throws would be beyond ALL of the remaining couples and could be dangerous if they went wrong. This would infer that a 'class B' dance would be required - all dance and limited lifts, jumps and throws. Steps taken from all of the associated dances; the jive, jitterbug, lindy-hop and boogie-woogie plus high kicks.

Next week should certainly sort out the remaining couples and could lead to an upset IMHO. As I only watch for the dance my vote could go anywhere next weekend! Either dance (as danced for competition) will require a level of agility and a sense of fun that will challenge all of the dancers that are left! Certainly a change from the 'orrible latin 'party' dances and romanticised strict format ballroom that SCD usually serves us up.

(PS) I've been a fan since series 1 so the above comment isn't knocking the show - in fact I grew up watching the original "Come Dancing"show!!

there are two distinct types of Rock N Roll though traditional - which I think the SCD people will do and Acrobatic which is highly specialised and beyond the professionals capabilities IMO

Traditional RNR does have some lifts in but nothing that the couples could not perform

It appears that only two couples are doing RnR, Ricky and Natalie. If so, I think we might see one with a bit of everything, and the other much more limited in scope.

But of course, Len will only find one mark's worth of difference between them, while Alesha will give a 10 and a 9. :p
