help,my google chrome has disappeared

i have google chrome installed on my pc and find it very efficient...but today i logged on and it had gone and my old google browser was there in its place..now my pc is running horribly slowly...:(
how do i re-install chrome and why would it just disappear anyway?
any suggestions gratefully accepted.:)

    Try a system restore to when you know it was last ok

    thanks cymru..its back on,looks like i clicked something i shouldnt last night...but if it happens again ill try that.:)
