Just been confirmed in the last few minutes.

Going to be a fantastic fight!

Be interesting how it will be covered in the UK, will it likely be on Sky pay per view? Will either 5live or talkSPORT have coverage?

Yes will be very intersting who gets the broadcasting rights. Do you think Boxnation have any chance or is this Sky PPV all the way?

Most likely be Sky but you never know ITV have the extra cash now they no longer have the footy and Channel 5 have Viacom footing there bills

5Live will have coverage for the fight.

Sky will have the rights to show it.

In the past, the following have been on Sky Sports Box Office:

    Frank Bruno vs Mike Tyson

    Mike Tyson vs Lennox Lewis.

It won't be as massive as Mike Tyson vs Lennox Lewis.

No chance of this being free on terrestrial tv.

Sweet baby Jesus and the orphans! This is the only fight in Boxing that I would pay to see right now and have wanted it for years! This news gets a big thumbs up from me!

This will be on Sky Box Office. Money is what is heavily pushing this fight. Isn't it the first $100 PPV in the States?

Imagine 100% this will be on Box Office Sky tend to get the wallet out for the really big fights BoxNation only get the ones they're not bothered about, probably not worth BT shelling out millions for it as they don't have a pay per view channel to get the money back.

Might be the first PPV boxing I buy since Hatton v Mayweather.

If it is $100 over in the USA to watch on PPV, surely Sky won't charge a similar amount over here??

Would anyone really pay Sky an extra £100 to watch it??

What has been the highest value Sky has changed for an event on Sky Box Office previously??

Sky must be huge favorites with having the box office platform and the likes of SSN to plug the heck out of it

WWE PPV's are £19.95 on Box Office now I think. Wrestlemania might be more.

I don't think they'd try much more than £25, if the fight was at 11pm or something maybe but at 4-5am not so easy to get people shelling out mega bucks for it even if it is going to catch the casual fans imagination which it will.

Could do with some British interest as well, wouldn't surprise me if they get Khan involved either on the undercard or on a British show beforehand.

Even though $100 is expensive, it's not uncommon for PPV events in the US to be pretty expensive in general.

Folks are forgetting that Boxnation has an exclusive deal with Top Rank & a deal with Mayweather promotions so for me that makes BN the favorites!

Sky will want it yes, but BN are no slouches!
They outbid Sky for the deal with Golden Boy and for Top Rank fights, both of which Sky wanted!
(Some exceptions apply because of UK rights being held with UK promoters etc)

I subscribe to Boxnation and they have shown all the recent Mayweather and Pacquaio fights AFAIK. Plus a lot of the other promoters cards live.

I'd rather it was on Boxnation, or FTA (which I doubt would happen). You'd get it £12 (or they put it up just for that month) and all the other boxing for a month - cancel anytime.

I am amazed they claim they will get the biggest ever PPV buys in the US when the previous record was 2.4 million at $90 for SD or $100 for HD. That's over £60 !

I do though remember that in Demark Kessler used to be able to get DKK500 which is around £50 for his fights when he was at the top of his game. There were a number of legal challenges as many bars in Copenhagen have UK & Irish satelitte TV and Setanta were showing it within their normal sports subscription.

Back to the flight. I can only see this being on Sky Box Office in the UK and given as said above WWE is now £20, I can see this being that price or even £25.

How many buys do Sky get 1 million ? but are those like Froch at reasonable times than 5am. Did Lewis or Bruno get to those levels but PPVs were cheaper then.

Hatton Mayweather got over a million in the same timeslot. Be surprised if Sky get 500k for this though

Yes they did out bid them but I wonder how much Sky really want this one?

If they are really keen to get it then they will go all out and flash their $$$$$ or is it ££££ but they will then pass it on to the viewer and charge min of £19.99

I would think Sky will get the UK rights for this but BoxNation have shown the last few Mayweather fights so there might already be a deal in place.

If Sky do get it then I would think a price of around £21.95. Recent Sky boxing PPV's have been around £17.95 but they know they can charge extra given the main event.

As for the likes of US PPV prices, they are ridiculous higher and although nobody likes to pay extra on top of existing subs we should probably count ourselves a bit lucky when you consider what people in other countries are paying for such events.
