I know its a bit depressing but I was just curious.

I had my heart broken when I was 19. He was totally unsuitable and I was very besotted.

You've never lived until you've had your heart broken.

It's painful but it's also a good exercise in learning how to cope with rejection...

yes, last week when Chelsea drew with West Ham which cost me £200 and at the weekend when Mayo GAA lost to Kildare by 1 point which would have won me £500

Actually, I was pretty heartbroken when my dog had to be put to sleep - does that count? Or do you specifically mean from being in a relationship with someone?

try Derry v Galway 2001 Semi-Final, winning by 2 with 10 minutes to go and ending up losing by 3.

No not necessarily but all our hearts break when loved ones pass away including pets.

I did mean in a relationship initially but what you're suggesting may widen the thread :)

    Yes once.

    It feels horrible doesn't it.

I felt cold inside and it was almost like mourning a person.

June, 2005! Some pikey bastards nicked a car I'd spent years restoring, wrecked it and then burnt it out.

Yes, many a time during my life. Its made me who I am today and how I will need a lot of time before I could get close to anyone again. If that doesn't happen again, no loss.

    Yes, when I was 16.

Why I couldn't tell you. I guess it's because I was going through a pretty traumatic time for various reasons.

If I met him now I'd tell him (impolitely) what to do to himself.

Mine was aged 17 and he did link up again after 30 odd years and....the passage of time did him no favours :D

I thought I did, but I survived, so it couldn't really have broken, could it? Felt bad for a time, though.
