If Mo wins this, he's an even better athlete than I thought he was.

Looking forward to this. I think he will do well but everyone seems to be trying to downplay how he will do.

Can't see him winning, 3rd will probably be best. Kipsang and one of the Mutai's should be in there and the Ethiopians.

Getting ridiculous not starting until 10:00. Glad I don't do it anymore, When they moved the start from 9.30 to 9.45 it was too late. Paris starts at 8 I think, New York 7, we have the peak finish time 14:30-15:00 and it's always baking hot.

Have the organisers explained why it's been moved back?

Is it because there is 45 minutes between the women and the men, but the wheelchairs now go out before the women, so they have rejigged the timetable?

Phenomenal achievement. 86 and 89 years old. How your legs hold out that many years is incredible.

All of that has happened but I can't work out why that needs the main race pushed back.

Scott Overall and Chris Thompson in this too. Should be three decent races today.

Mo doesn't stand a chance wearing 26 which is the race number of perpetual MotoGP bridesmaid Dani Pedrosa. :(

Those guys can tell their grandchildren they ran the London Marathon with Helen Skelton.

Hmm interesting Mo has decided not to go with the lead group which seems to have set off at an insane pace.

Some of those guys will blow up so Mo has a great chance of top 5 just by holding form.

Probably wise for him to not go off like a rocket with the first group and then blow up. Imagine today he wants to see more where he stands in the pecking order of marathon runners than trying to turn up like Billy big time and try win it against a top class field.

Top 5 would probably be an excellent result for him.

You have to take your hat off to Brendan Foster, who after decades, can still cover over twenty-six miles, without shutting his mouth once, with Steve Cram coming in a close second..
Helen Skelton, one of the BBC's pointless dolly-bird, "presenters" entertained the viewers, by doing her usual Sue Pollard impression, before she set off this morning.

Of course she is, that's why she's got her job at the BBC.

45 seconds back. What an anti climax this is looking to be. Unless the leaders really have set off far too quick and will crash and burn later.

Cross Country skiing. Suppose it's not a bad event to double up in as it requires similar arm strength I'd imagine.

Good to see Mo off the pace, finally we are getting to see what goes on in a marathon away from the lead pack.
