The Golden Triangle Tour, northern India (currency query)

Has anyone been on the Golden Triangle tour? We going in Novmber and don't know what to do about currency. Apparently you can't buy rupees here and there aren't many opportunities to change travellers cheques on the tour. There must be some way of getting money, as its such a popular tour.

    Why not speak to your tour operator travel agent?

    If it is a popular tour, they will know and be able to advise you.

    I don't know anything about the tour but what do you mean you can't buy rupees here? An agent can order in a currency for exchange and it's not as if rupees are obscure. You could also quite easily exchange sterling at the airport once you arrive.

    I would get cash as markets are the most common way to shop in places like India.
