Hi,
I'm after a new twin tuner DVD/HD recorder that has freeview and also enables me to copy footage from my old mini-DV camcorder. I really don't know where to begin finding one that matches all those features, so I'd appreciate some suggestions.
Thanks in advance!
Sarah

DVD recorders are single tuner, only PVR's are twin tuner - however, Panasonic did make a range of PVR's with internal DVD or BD recorders, I don't know if they are still available or not? (they didn't sell very well).
Here's their current range:

No mention of a twin tuner though, but it does carry the Freeview+ logo which usually means two tuners. Might be worth an email to Panasonic to confirm.
(BluRay/HDD/Freeview recorder second one listed)

Is indeed a twin tuner model, but at £550 it certainly isn't cheap.
Seems that the other manufacturers have pulled out of that combi recorder market.
Like I said above - the Panasonic ones are a PVR, with an added DVD recorder. So it's essentially just two separate units in one box, this is why it's expensive.
A DVD/HDD recorder is a just a DVD recorder with an HDD added, so is far more 'simple'.
Unfortunately people seem to be confused by the concept, and think they are the same things.
But probably marginally cheaper via Amazon/elsewhere should the OP pursue buying one.......(at the risk of making the most obvious comment ever!)
