At work. I was 19 when we first met, but we didn't get together until about a year and a half later (I always liked her but I kinda thought she was off limits, what with her being 6 years older and engaged and probably out of my league)

We knew of each other at school. I went out with his pal for 13 years. We broke up, I got together with my husband. A year after we started going out we got engaged, waited 2½ years before we got married (I was 28 when we got married) and we've now been married 13 years.

We met last March after both being on match.com Most people think internet dating is sad but i was single for just over a year and thought i'd try it. I never thought i'd end up meeting someone and being as happy as I am now. I was 22 and he was 27.

Don't give up, I have had several G/Fs in my life, but I didn't meet MY "one" until I was 53, we have been together for 4 years now,
How did we meet? on an internet forum similar to this one!! we started of with just 'banter' this led to 'forum flirting' we found a way to exchange email addresses, eventually met up, and have been living together for almost 2 years,

She was the hot 31 year old out for a new year drink. I was the "cute" 26 year old barman that she took home to bring in the new year with a "bang".

15 years later we're still (very) happily married.

OP you have loads of time.

    Going to sound cheesey but...

    Prom. :o

We were in the same school, same years, different social crowds for five years and had barely exchanged more than 10 words in that time. I fancied him, he thought i was 'fit', but it didn't amount to anything till prom. He tried to dance with me (terrible dancer) and then plucked up the courage to ask for my number. :D

6 and a half years later im as happy as ever :)

    I was 15, he was 16. Now 21 and he's 22. (you've missed the boat!!! :p)

How do you kow they're the "one" though! Ive been in some long term relationships before (Im 29) and thought they were the one but didnt work out. The VAST majority of my friends and peers (mostly males) are single, let alone married.

I do get jealous of people who were aged 12 when they met, married at 18 etc etc....but then I think, goodness, yep Ive shagged around and had some fun in my 20s and am glad I did that! I wonder whether those who married young have a slight envy for those who were able to "have fun" in their 20s and 30s.

At least she didn't recoil his advances.

Or run off like a shot ;)
