I've got plenty of gear, probably too much but try to put it to good use.

Been directed to this thread by DarkJediMaster. I'd hope I am a good photographer. Been studying it at college for the last three years. Doing a C&G Level 2, then C&G Level 3 and I'm now halfway through a 2 year HND.

Since I've seen a few kit lists thought I'd post mine:

Canon 70d (which replaced a 500d which I still have as backup)
    Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
    Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
    Canon EF 50mm f1.8
    Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II
    2* Canon 430EXII Speedlites

Assorted filters (mainly UV or ND), extension tubes and a ton of other stuff that clutters up my main bag!

I subscribe to the student edition of Creative Cloud and mainly use Lightroom and Photoshop CC for my editing. I did use Aperture very briefly for a month or two recently but no point in continuing with that. I have an iMac at home for editing and a MacBook Pro for on the move or when I'm at college.

My Flickr is at https://www.flickr.com/photos/51985475@N07/ although I need to update it with a few of my more recent projects

Can anyone advise on street photography? How do you take shots of people without startling them like frightened rabbits?

You are just up the road from me :) I was invited to Preston on monday to go out taking photos, but I couldn't make it due to work.

It's better to start off with a long lens then as you get more confident, get closer.

Pretend you are taking photos of something else, pretend to be not interested in the person you are trying to photograph.

I have done a little bit of street stuff, but I'd like to do some more.

I want to get a Canon 135 f2 to help with street photography, f2 to isolate the subject.

This is one I like....I have others on my flickr.

135mm isn't street. Get up close with a 50mm, watch Bruce Gilden for example.

Really glad that you decided to join the thread, your zoo work is remarkable and it was from yours & Annette's recommendation of the 55-250, that I eventually purchased and really enjoy using. No worries about not updating your Flickr as it isn't the fastest service to upload to. :)

My Niece was born on Friday, so should be whipping out the 50mm 1.8 in the next couple of days. :)

Or 35mm if you want to really get in close :)

135mm is close enough for me!

Have you done any street photography?

My 50mm got a bit of use a couple of years ago when my nephew was born.

I've added some more of my more recent work to flickr just now. There's a few more zoo photos but with some creative editing to fit a college brief I had and a few from my current project on Lego Lord Of The Rings

Love the model shots, it's truly amazing what the kit glass can do. :)

    Good captures :)

Those are proper photos not video captures.

I took them and then took the video straight after.

Not as good as I would like in comparison to a video capture. But it was through a window and I was shaking a little holding the camera.

Sorry, just my use of terminology!

I like your photographs of the foxes.

No worries, I wasn't sure if that's what you meant or not.

The video is in the pets thread about the fox cubs.

Here is a photo of the 3 cubs sleeping together in the garden this morning.

    http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq131/koantemplation/Animals/Foxcubs190714_zpsa6aa253d.jpg

I have cropped and colour corrected it using Irfanview.

Not sure if there is anything I can do to improve the picture but any advice is welcomed.

Here is another one. One of the cubs has moved leaving the other two having a cuddle. :)

The cubs are beautiful and a great subject to photograph. What camera are you using?
