So Gordon Brown has recieved 8 apologies and corrections from News International over incorrect stories about him.

An article about MP's earnings from outside interests...reported that...Gordon Brown had an annual income of more than £900,000...

We are happy to make it clear that Mr Brown's only personal income is his salary as an MP; he has declined the pension that he is entitled to as a former Prime Minister. All the money from his speeches and writings goes to the Office of Gordon and Sarah Brown to fund his and his wife's charitable and public service work...

x 7 similar apologies. That's a campaign to portray Gordon Brown out of office as a greedy opportunist who freeloads off his MP's salary.

As opposed to Gordon Brown in office where he was portrayed as an autistic bully

In fact he's so busy working that he doesn't have the time to turn up to the House of Commons (where he is actually paid to be) more than a handful of times a year.

A lack of Commons appearances does not necessarily indicate an MP is not representing his constituents properly. Is Gordon Brown fulfilling his duties as an MP? Nothing in the Sun or the Times to show he isn't so far.

If the Leveson recommedations get implemented, the Sun and the Times will be able to run campaigns to discredit people just as they did before, but they will be encouraged to do so via telling the truth.
