I love the feeling of hearing a song for the first time and it soon becoming a favourite,
has anyone else experienced that recently?
I came across these songs that hit me like a tonne of bricks:
Claudia Kane - Residents of Darkness
Eurielle - Gold
FKA Twigs - Water me
Send me some pearls of wisdom below of any unknown songs you want to share...

The Swell Season - High Horses
I like this one.
This is one I recently discovered which I think is instantly accessible:

They have one called Pompeii too which is very moving -but it isn't so unknown.

Oh wow this one gets you straight away! good find
where did you hear about them ?
I hope the OP will forgive me for jumping in. The Swell Season are Irish musician Glen Hansard and Czech singer and pianist Markéta Irglová. I learned of them via the movie "Once" which features them and is a 5 * must watch ( it's also now a top rated Broadway musical )
I cannot recommend the movie and the soundtrack highly enough
Their debut album has impressed me, it's got a haunting yet chilled vibe to it.

Ah brilliant thanks for the heads up ! must watch it
I think that the soundtrack to a movie is so important.
Have you seen the film 'Practical Magic' ? - I saw it years ago and thats where i discovered Joni Mitchell and Stevie Nicks. the soundtrack is wicked - highly recommend!
I love London Grammar they are like a breath of fresh air
have a look at their live set on KEXP :

Im just so fed up of a lot of the rubbish that has made it into mainstream but London Grammar are one of the few exceptions
I really like this singer Claudia Kane at the moment, apparently she's going to blow up next year - she had a lot more of her music up but she's only got her video Residents of Darkness now which is a shame, some of her songs were quite similar to London Grammar.

I heard this on Radio2 a few months ago,had to whip shazam right out!!!Brilliant song:)
Holy Esque - Silences

Have discovered such artists as Peter Godwin, Fallout Club (Thomas Dolby's early project) and Ronny through this, so it's like getting a stream of new music through, even though I don't like the R n B sound of many of today's releases.
Minks - Margot
Bye Bye Bicycle - Haby Bay
Boat Club - Spanish Castles
Studio - Self Service
Gwen Guthrie - The rent
I haven't seen the movie, but the reviews look good...and that is quite an outstanding choice of soundtrack - Elvis - Nilsson - Joni Mitchell - Stevie nicks ....will check that out too , thanks
Yes you got it ! this got me straight away id be trying to shazam to if i heard it. its amazing i LOVE it !
Shazam is always such a traumatic experience for me because i can never get the song in time or someone starts talking all over it and it doesnt work ! haha
The track is called Wow! and is an experimental dance track with a Euphoric breakdown about halfway through. Me and my mate put together the music video although it was all filmed ages ago for a different project.
Hitstastic - Wow!
I didn't link to the official video because it has one of those bloody adverts preceding it.
Oh wicked, i didn't know that the lead from the Cardigans had a new band.
