I'm going with 1994 closely followed by 1996 and 1995. Today is cool but the 90s were too awesome.

2004 was a good year too. MGS3, Half Life 2, GTA: San Andreas, Pokemon FireRed, Sly 2: Band of Thieves, THUG2...quality games.
