There was a 1940ish actor whose name is blanking on me. He was imprisoned for murder or similar, which people believed had effectively ended his acting career, but he made a moderately successful comeback after his release. This is going to pester me all evening.

His career underwent a two-year (1927–1929) forced hiatus when he served 25 months for manslaughter in California's San Quentin prison for the death of actor Ray Raymond, a few days after their fistfight. At his trial, Kelly contended that Raymond had started the fight and did not show signs of serious injury at the time.

Charles S. Dutton, who was in Alien 3 and many others, had a couple of stretches in prison (for manslaughter and possession of a deadly weapon) in his youth. He took drama lessons whilst in prison. Glad he turned his life around.

Jeffrey Jones (Bettlejuice, Ferris Bueler and Amadeus) - Child Porn related charges, i believe possession and maybe solicitation of a minor.

Edit I'm mistaken he hasn't been to prison but he plead no contest to the charges and was on probation.

Cameron Douglas, Michael's son if you count the 3 or 4 films he has appeared in. Currently in prison for lots of drug related shenanigans. According to Wiki has had his leg broken by another inmate and been sentenced to solitary confinement while in there. Sounds pretty grim!.
