After 3 weeks at the box office it has made 370 Million Worldwide... with 150 Domestic (seems like 200 is very reachable)
Over 500 Million Worldwide is a lock at this point but how far can it go? IMO it will close its run with 580 million... I
Considering this was looking like one of the biggest flops of the year, with some websites prediction a gross of less then 250 million worldwide, and less then 100 domestic...it is doing very well... with rentals, sales and streaming rights it will add a huge profit... and a sequel is already in the works..
It seems like Johnny Depp has taken the Bullet that Brad Pitt dodged...Lone Ranger is tanking hard in the us.
Is anyone suprised at this?? Personally I thought it would be this years John Carter/Battleship

Nice bit of retrospective thinking. It wasn't remotely obvious it was going to do well, which is why everyone was predicting it would be a flop. Just a few examples;

I could go on because there are hundreds of articles like this, right up to days before the film was released.
So lets not pretend that it was obvious it was going to do well, because no one predicted it would.
I think you're right. Considering the production problems, the re-writes and re-shoots it's had, it really did have 'turkey' written all over it.
Exactly, plus there were murmurings that it was a shockingly bad film right up till the preview screenings and reviews started showing overall decent word of mouth which didn't help perceptions pre-release.
As I said elsewhere it cost so much on top of the production budget it's still not going to make a massive profit, but the fact it is going to end up making a profit at all really is a credit to all the people involved in the production that didn't give up on this film when things started to go bad for it.
Perhaps there is a bit of a lesson here for the big studios that it can be worth making an investment in a troubled production to set things right rather than rushing it out and crossing their fingers.
Incorrect. It had a production budget of $190 dollars, excluding money for reshooting a significant part of the film and substantial promotional costs. The actual cost of the making and promoting the film is said to be anything up to $400. At this time it's actually likely still in the red on worldwide takings, though it will make a small profit in due course.
Again, nice bit of retrospective thinking - "no surprise" that a film everyone thought was going to be a mega flop is making money? Really?
Me too. I also thought it was a good film.
That's because it's awful. Terrible waste of talent and money.
Absolute Bullsh!t
Show me some reliable information that states this is true...
Boxoffice.com always include promotion etc in their budget
and they have it as Total Budget: $260,000,000.
That was updated from Total Budget: $190,000,000 a few months ago
There are a lot of reports of the total cost being anything up to $400 including the reshooting and promotion costs. Just one:

Please don't swear at me. I have supported this film on this forum, I'm not hating on it. No need to attack someone who is on the same side as you.
success is relative I think. In the context of it being predicted to make a massive loss, the studio will see a small profit as a success. Plus these kinds of films always make a lot of money on dvd, tv rights etc further down the line.
Plus there is already confirmation of a sequel in the works, the hopes will be that with a more stable production, the profit margin next time around will be larger.
Expensive movies are expected to be hits, if anything it's when they flop that surprises occur.
Incorrect, it did not have a budget of $190 dollars, it cost over $150 million to make which is what I said.
World War Z had hit written all over it. Zombies are the 'in' thing at the moment and combine that with one of Hollywoods most bankable stars. In the States it's a PG-13 which is another massive plus point.
Ultimately though, it's congratulations to both Pitt & Paramount, and to the obviously intrigued wider audience who've been attracted to it.
Sold well. Seen well. Job done.
try reading some of the links i posted up thread and then say that. Better yet, perhaps provide me with a link to something you said before it came out that predicted it had "hit" written all over it,...
