Janet Jackson to "wear black for a year"

The Jacksons can wear black forever, but it doesn't stop them looking as if they are mercilessly cashing in on their brother's death. Jermaine is popping up on anything and everything, Janet has resurrected her career and is writing a "tell-all" book, La Toya is doing the chat show rounds, Joseph has started a record label... It's almost as if they see Michael's passing as some sort of godsend for their own financial situations. Tasteless, tacky, and highly suspect. They should remember - the world isn't interested in them. It's Michael we really want.

I think its touching that Janet is going to wear black for a year, and I dont think or see how she can be accused of cashing in on her brothers death, the other Jacksons yes, but Janet is a major talent in her own right and I feel she is truly hurting over her brothers passing.

I agree. I'm not really interested in the other Jacksons, but Janet is a huge star in her own right (moreso in America than over here) and doesn't really need to cash in on anything.

Out of all the Jacksons i believe she is the most genuine.

Janet's grief is genuine and she's always earned her own money.

The others are very suspect - especially Jermaine and La Toya!

In fairness to Janet she was working on her projects long before Michael died and she gave her only interview to the fairly prestigious, 'Bazaar'. Her book 'The True You' she has been working on for a long time, its not a tell all (as sensationalised by Diane Dimond and the like) but a book helpful to other women who struggle with body issues. Also her grieving interupted the filming of 'Why Did I Get Married Too', I love the Tyler Perry films so I've been keeping an eye on that one, 'Why Did I Get Married' (1) is a great film.

And even if she did, navy blue is wholly appropriate for mourning/funerals, so it's a non-issue either way.
