Also http://megavideo.com and Proboard forums as well. Proboard Support said the problem seems to only be with Sky Broadband users and Sky Broadband is aware of the problems. The only way I can access these boards is to use the Opera web browser is with the Turbo boost turned on.

This is suspicious - all the file hosting sites at the same time.

Not too good if you paid for a premium account on one or more of these.

    Tip:-
You can still get to rapidshare and hotfile links by converting them into secure links. i.e. change http://rapidshare.com/.... to https://rapidshare.com/.... etc.

    www.megaupload.com is blocked as well.

The thing is, I use these sites for photo albums for family abroad so I have a premium account I can't use now! Not happy with Sky over this.

    :( Mark

Try replacing megaupload.com with 209.222.148.136 in your links. It might work for you.

    Great :)

195.122.131.46 should work for rapidshare.com in the same way.

I can't seem to do the same for hotfile.com the IP should be one of 74.120.8.77, 74.120.8.75 or 74.120.8.76 but they all appear to be blocked.

Is this actaully a problem or are sky actively blocking the sites?

Luckily I can still access rapidshare with the https:// but its apain in the arse and a service I have paid for only last week on the 3 month plan.

add http://www.zshare.net to the list as well. I don't know if they're actively blocking websites or not because I am unable to access any Proboard forums and I don't see why as they are not a file sharing site. Also, I would expect Sky Broadband to send out a notice to it's users if they were going to do that. Other UK broadband services don't seem to have this problem.

Proboard say that it's an issue with port 80 and that sky are working on the problem. If you want to use the Pro board pages add ":8080" after ".com" and it should work.

http://hotfile.com is working again for me now too. :)

Is it all back to normal then? Anybody still not able to get to their favourite file hosting site?

Yes, pro boards (only the forums) and the aforementioned file sharing sites are blocked again.

After 3 days of this incompetence by Sky (they seem unable to filter their server traffic properly) the time is getting close for emails to the CEO and the press, I think.

No, though i did get a reply to my email of complaint. They know about it and are trying to fix it but don't know when.

It looks like one of their anti-p0rn or anti-something-else filters is picking up legitimate sites as well, and they are struggling to fix it.

Whether or not all the the filesharing sites mentioned are "legitimate" or not is open to debate! :D
