"Adele's 21 has posted its strongest seven-day sales figures yet to secure a tenth consecutive week atop the UK album chart.
Over 250,000 copies of the mega-successful LP were purchased since last Sunday, a week-on-week increase of 65%."
This is absolutely staggering, what an amazing achievement. She really has turned into a mega-star and 19 is still the second biggest seller in the country this week. Her 2011 sales figures will be absolutely phenomenal. Go Adele!

Just a thought.
What's your problem?
She's done really well
You won't be disappointed. She has definitely improved on 21, with regards to her vocals and her song-writing skills. In my opinion, 21 is one of the best albums of the year so far... and definitely worth buying
Well done Adele!:D
Oh dear.
I *think* the debut, '19' is still a bargainous £3.99 delivered from Amazon. A billy bargain IMO.
Personally I think that's the very reason 19 is doing so well, it's a no-brainer to buy both albums together.
I'm pretty sure that's not allowed, sadly.
But Amazon bundling them together for one price is fair game.
Yes mothers day is the only answer for this, but I still have to say, its good sales.
Duffy must be thinking "It should have been me!!!"
Wasn't that Yvonne Fair? (showing age again )
MOR stronger presence than you'd normally find even due to mother's day
And here's me thinking Adele's success is due to you convincing me it's a country album  So is it MOR country?
She'll be happy about charting higher than Madame Autotune, Britney:D
Yes you've got it
Country music was quite big in the 70's (country music & MOR were closely aligned then - just stating facts thats all).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adult_contemporary#History
MOR was an older term used in the middle seventies that developed into what is now known as the broader Adult Contemporary tag.Adele (or her record) label have taken her Adult Contemporary sound back to a more MOR / Country sound back to that mid-'70's period which is why she's popular with the older age group's.It sounds nostalgic to them without sounding patronising
Do I have to keep explaining it to you all the time .Isn't it about time you actually started exploring / listening to some of Adele roots to her music since you are such a fan.You seem to be in denial about what those roots are
This were Adele is more or less on her latest album (taken from wiki Adult Contemporary article):-
Much as some hot AC and modern rock artists have crossed over into each other, so too has soft AC crossed with country music, particularly among the female artists. Musicians such as Faith Hill, LeAnn Rimes, Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood have had success on both charts, as have some male artists (such as Rascal Flatts, Kid Rock (primarily a rock musician, though "All Summer Long" has been played on rock, AC, pop and country formats), co-ed trio Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban, and Darius Rucker (who had pop and AC hits as lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish and is currently having a successful solo career as a country artist). This crossover has its roots in the countrypolitan/Nashville sound pop styles of years past, which ironically were popularized heavily by male artists.
Does anyone know how much its sold already?
Something like 1.8 million I think.
Wow that's great! Thanks!
