Dr's are not given time these days..they really need to spend more time with patients these days. I am sure there was more to that man's condition, he really didn't seem as though he was quite with it and was definately confused.

That doctor needs to toughen up. She looked like she was close to tears.

Unfortunately that is all they do now.. Her tablets were probably for her personality disorder, and I know my Dr has suggested taking my dogs out before.. It's little goals they aim for. I would also hazard a guess he has put a call into the crisis team at the MH unit to contact this woman.

Hi Andagha...Hope we have an update at the end...She seemed in such despair..

That's a good point , I hope you are right. My heart goes out to her, I have been there.

So have I unfortunately.. Although I will never get rid of the Personality Disorder/Bipolar.. thankfully I have a very good therapy support group helping me through. The MHT are bloody useless here, I'm not even being seen by the psychiatrist or have a care co-ordinator mainly because they think I can't be ticked in their little box. Plus they don't know how to deal with personality disorders hence why this specialist group was set up privately from the MHT..

I know what you are saying. Just not enough NHS funding into MH . Not enough staff.

I'm on plus 1, forgot this was on looked like they might go a bit sensationalist from the trailers, I hope not, 'cause the last series was quite good, even if it was ignored.

I've actually just started a thread called Sex education in the general discussion forum because of the lass who thought having sex after a period would ensure no pregnancy.
I'd love some of you to answer the questions posed there....cause I was SHOCKED someone of that age would've thought that.

I never saw this programme before, it made me feel so sad to listen to that poor girl Janet. I hope she is doing ok. I'm not sure if it is good entertainment though, some of the people featured don't seem properly capable of deciding to give their consent to it being aired.

I don't think it's fair to watch these people especially the girl with the personality disorder and who was suicidal. Too much!

I would have to watch the footage to be shown before I would give my consent for it to be shown.
    Perhaps that is what happens.

Whilst I'm not sure the pd lady had the capacity to give consent to filming, it is so helpful to hear what she said. I'm the same with my dog helping me and what she said about seeing herself walk in front of a bus whenever she sees one is exactly what I see too.

And like me, she's just sent away for a week with no help, no referral to the crisis team because she's a borderline and they don't like to help us.

It is hard to watch but on reflection I wish I had this Dr. Instead I have the nightmare of the crisis team called on me and its making me worse. Last time they took over my life for 18 months and the thought of going through it all again is terrifying.

Soon as that appointment arrived, now the contol will be taken from me, they have too much power. I now hate my GP so yes I do wish I had this Dr.

I work in a Gp surgery and it's tough going. Though to be fair we get more grief from the gps than we do patients. Although we do get our fair share of patients abusing us, spitting at us, knocking chairs over just cos they can't wait 10 mins for their prescription. It's never a dull moment in a surgery .

Happened to catch this for the first time and it was insightful and worrying in equal measures! Goodness, did the man with a rash on his face say he washed it with Listerine several times a day? Then wonder if it was his cat causing it! It was fascinating though to be a fly on the wall and see the diverse range of colourful characters that walk through the doors - including gifts they are given! GP's certainly have to be patient and diplomats too!

It was hard to watch sad situations unfold though, such as the man who - from what I gathered had been having some routine tests for his pressure and cholestral, but his visit had potentially triggered a few alarm bells for the GP, with regards his poor memory. I too was worried for the young woman in a terrible state, trying to cope, but perhaps it helped to highlight the growing number of people, many quite young who are struggling with severe depression in a world full of hideous pressures and stress .

the couple with learning difficulties just seem to be on for comedy value.

feel sorry for this lady with the hyperactive son. presumably adhd or something similiar.

I agree with you on both counts. The couple with learning difficulties do seem to be thrown in for comedic value, considering they featured heavily last week as well. What did she ask the doctor to do? I thought she said put your finger up my bum, but I could have misheard with the noise going on in this house!

And that poor woman with the hyperactive boy, you could just see the exhaustion on her face, I really felt sorry for her.

The woman's palpitations were probably caused by anxiety dealing with her child's problems. Poor lady.
