Look the music is actually really lovely but we were promised a big Glaswegian party so this offering just seems so flat. Glaswegians are known for the larger than life no nonsense attitude - none of which is reflected in this ceremony. I wanted a show that celebrated the best of Glasgow so I was expecting noise, fun, colour and lots and lots of singing and jumping up and down.
Fully agree - it's why I tuned in! I much rather be enjoying this than yawning. They should have done with the speeches first within it's first 20-30mins, then have the dancing, singing and the rest of it.
Trouble is with Australia having the CG next time no one will be able to watch it as it will be on in the middle of the night...either that or a few people may suddenly have to take holidays in April.

Beijing 2008, Delhi 2010 and London 2012 had handover parts too but I can't remember wanting a valium during them!
Had to laugh at Scottish journalist Brian McIver's comment:
"... respect to Lulu for adopting the accent of every English speaking member of the Commonwealth."
Of joy or despair?
