I can understand that, but its odd she's never been mentioned at all on the prog.
When you analyse how much he's actually had to say, though, it's not much. He may well have referred to her by name but the only bits that have made the cut have "we" rather than her name.
Stratford-upon-Avon will have a year-round season so she's probably running the business while he's away promoting it. And perhaps if the producers know that someone won't be going on the travels they don't bother showing the person in their own property. Or perhaps she is just shy.
Apologies... I did indeed mean Louis - with Louises as the plural. Maybe Louis-es is a better plural.
I am new here but find that it is very friendly and my posts have had replies, so I do hope to continue as long as I am welcome.
I think it would be fun if we could have a feedback poll for these B&Bs on DS, it would show the diversity between posters and what expectations we have of these owners. We could see if we agree or disagree with the participants on the programme and also give them the same ratings.

Re: 'matress-gate' - the aforementioned Amanda from Borrowby Mill (the only previous contestant to refuse to stay at an establishment) actually encountered a stained matress at another B&B that week (the really nice woman married to the American guy - forgotten her name...:o).
However, Amanda pointed this out to the hostess and was allocated another room. The whole situation was delt with *very* professionally - something which Amanda actually highlighted on the feedback form.
I've followed Birthday Girl's lead and cracked open the wine, as I feel tonight's edition may be something of a bumpy ride. It's currently in the kitchen 'breathing'.
So many posts on the same topic, and here's another one.:)
I felt a bit sorry for Helen's daughter, being outed as a bedwetter on national television. I hope she's old enough not to care too much about the revelation.
Veronica chose to drop her bombshell at a highly inappropriate moment. As the lovely Ben pointed out, this left Helen with no opportunity of offering alternative sleeping arrangements. It was also an unnecessarily public announcement.
I do, however, think there's a risk of conflating two connected but separate issues, namely V & S's behaviour, and The Mattress Incident. The former does not excuse the latter. Helen readily admitted the mattress was stained with "kid's wee". It baffles me that she would ever consider her daughter's urine stained mattress to be suitable for guests. All sorts of substances may eventually find their way onto B&B mattresses, but one would hope that they start out in a reasonably pristine state.
Despite Saida's quietness, she certainly manages to get her viewpoint put across via Veronica. I wonder if Veronica would be quite so full on were she not to feel it necessary to defend Saida constantly. Methinks Said is quite capable of speaking on her own behalf when she wishes - e.g. at dinner, when stating she had cooked everything herself.
Just as well it's over today. Otherwise we might all get wee-ary:o

I'm glad you find it a friendly thread gillie, I've also found it to be too. Wish we'd/someone had thought of a poll before, we could have done it weekly - maybe we could have a couple of threads at the end of the series, is it next week? one for best and one for worst?
I think you can choose 4 options for each poll, so that could work out reasonably well.

You really do have to give people the opportunity to see for themselves and if they don't deal with it properly, then there's still the option to leave.
The thing about the brown on loo brushes is that it's rust from the wires holding in the bristles. No amount of bleach removes that. so the only way to avoid people grumbling about it being "dirty" is to put a brand new brush in there for every guest.

Ooh, I like this idea.

You don't have to win it to get the publicity.
Aaah, well as I haven't had the privilege to be in front of the cameras then I suppose I should not comment
I will though say, that many times I have said yes to something and then thought why on earth did i agree to do this?
I hope Paul or the young couple win.
I cannot help but feel sorry for V&S they have huge property on their hands that I doubt will ever survive.
I think Paul will be relishing it, if it does get awkward.
The devil in me is thinking the more awkward the better
I'm such a terrible person
I think Paul is pretty reasonable and will just stand up for what's right, I think he's got over his dislike of that blonde lady a bit now.
haha me too:o
and the conflab will be in the filthy, vomit aroma pub, Poor V&S having to step foot in the place again:D
I have to wait and watch on C4+1:(
....and avoid this thread!

ha ha - you're not alone! :D

I'm sure it wasn't always so bad, but nearly everyone's saying the same
I feel depressed seeing their place and listening to their woes. Sorry as I might feel for them personally, it's not what guests want to hear about.
The 'Mad Uncle'
Make that 3 :D
It's Friday evening, and I'm quite prepared for things to get messy!
You're supposed to let it breathe?:D
