Russell Brand's image change.

Anyone noticed Russell brand looks really different to how he used to look?
Ever since hes made it in hollywood and dating katy perry hes stopped backcombing his hair and wearing eyeliner.. and now he wears suits allot more. Do you think maybe his agent has told him if he wants to be big in america then he has to have an image change?

And ive just seen him on an advert for Piers Morgans Life Stories!! never thought he'd do that.

His now vacant/dead/lost eyes are more of a worry imo. They say you have to sell your soul to make it in Hollywood. Let's hope this truly isn't the case. He may not be my thing but he always at least looked to be having a lot of fun-before the HW move.

Yes he did! He always had a laddish image, and a certain couldn't-care-less look about him before. Now he looks clean up and sanitised and a bit fed up.

I quite fancied the old him and could see how he had such success with women

He now looks like he is the married man he has become ..preferred the wild looking brand to the all american image now..

I have to agree. I can understand him having to adapt to a degree for a new audience but still... he just seems so out of his element somehow.

I remember how he used to look before he had any kind of image for himself: http://www.sabotagetimes.com/wp-content/uploads/Russell-Brand3.jpg Back when he used to present for MTV and stuff. I liked him more in those days, even if he was mostly caked off his face.

I dont like it! He looks WORSE now! And less attractive!:o

The scruffy haor & stubble really bought out his good looks.

Anyone think he looks more like his dad now he's all coiffeured??

He looked better THEN, as a junkie than he does now!

I agree he is a little dead behind the eyes now. Im concerned for the future tbh, as I suspect he will grow v bored of the goldfish lifestyle of an A lister. Im worried about what he will do/try to get away from that...:(

I think a problem welling up for the future is: Russell has reached his peak now. I mean LITERALLY now as he had the US no 1 & 2 film slots last week.

He seems typecast in comedy, he doesnt have much acting range so is unlikely to adapt to other genres. He's not got the right persona to be more of a "straight" leading man.
So his options are relatively limited. Americans are in love with him right now, but what happens when hes not flavour of the month there anymore??

I don't think he's unhappy with Katy, I just think he's not particularly happy in the movie industry (or at least the Hollywood movie industry).

A close friend of his has be very ill recently and I think a little bit of Hollywood pessure and in-law pressure could be due to the sudden change.

I saw him admit in an interview in a jokey way that its actually not that great as he thought. He did admit he wanted to be as big in america as he was in the UK and now he has it its not that great. I guess its one of them things wanting what you cant have and once you got it, it loses its novelty.
But hes got to be carefull now i mean if he cheats on katy perry i guess shes americas pop princess and if he does her wrong america might turn on him. Who knows.
I really like him though i think hes really honest and charming. A nice man i do wish him well.

The last photo looks like a mug shot! I think his change is a comination of getting older, calming down and getting married and also toning down his image to fit in, in the states. To gain something you also have to lose something. Part of making it big is losing your personal freedom.
