I think Mac is the best quality line of products I've tried. I have a lot of stuff from there and there's rarely anything I've been disappointed with. The eyeliner and eyeshadows are particular favourites. I like the way everything is presented and packaged too.

I think Benefit is pretty overrated, tried a few things from there and didn't think they were anything special for the price. I think the beautiful packaging is a bit of a distraction TBH.

I love MAC, the only thing I've had that I wouldn't get again is the kohl liner because it smudges too much. I think when your compare it against other brands it is very reasonably priced as well - now a No 7 lipstick is £9.50 I think MAC lippy is only £10-11!
Got the cream blusher for christmas and its fab, the nicest make up item I've ever had!
Worst brand for me L'Oreal - I've used some of their foundations and I swear after a few days they turn really orange - not a good look.

I had Constance Carroll nail varnish once, smelled dreadful and lasted about 8 hours before chipping off everywhere. :) Haven't seen that brand in ages, I think "Collection 2000" is made by the same people which is also pretty bad.

Never tried much L'Oreal but I always thought it looked a bit cheap and nasty.

Rimmel is a bit of a mixed bunch. I use their powder, blusher and Super Lash mascara but their eyeshadows, foundations and other mascaras are bad.

Another MAC fan here, also love Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, not a great fan of Benefit-agree that it has lovely packaging but not great products-apart from their bad gal mascara, although I've just started using Aveda mascara which is lovely and £2 (or so) cheaper than Benefit!! :)

I love loads of different brands...

Bourjois - Foundation, Concealer & Powder
    Maybelline - Mascara
    Max Factor - Mascara
    Ruby & Millie, L'Oreal - Eyeshadows
Dior - Eyeliner (it is the best!)

I do not particuarly like Rimmel stuff, or Avon branded items. I just can't get on with them - they all seem to disappear on my face after only a couple of hours

I love loads of different brands:

Clinique - foundation, I only need light foundation to balance out my skin tone and so many brands are so heavy or orangey. Clinique is lovely and light and leaves my skin looking dewy.

YSL - Faux Cils Mascara, have tried so many others but I keep going back to this one.

Make Up Forever - Eye shadow - have got so many of their loose powders that I can wear wet or dry and the pigment is fantastic.

Smashbox - Love them for eye shadow and lip glosses

You leave your make-up on more than one day... or do you mean once the product is opened is starts to change?

i love clinique but it's always very safe, MAC is adventurous with some great colours.
do fancy trying some bobbi brown when i'm next in selfridges.
benefit eyebrows box is good, but as you say the rest is mainly packaging.
urban decay is pretty good too, some damn fine colours if you like that kind of thing

    YSL mascara, nothing compares.

Chanel kohl- it stays on forever and smudges lovely

Got my liquid eyeliner from a market stall, the woman told me to try the brush one that all the indian girls ask for, and it goes on amazing, much easier than those with the stubby tip

Clarins foundation- best for my skin combination and tone

urban decay and dior show for eyeshadows

lipglosses from mac, though i got one from the 2true 3 for a fiver range at superdrug and the colour is amazing, bit sticky though

Best has to be MAC. Only have a few items from them as I can't afford everything I want MAC-wise! But yeah MAC gets my vote for best.

Worst, I'm not sure to be honest, I've never really had any make-up disasters before with a paticular brand, but ones that have never really shown much effect would have to be cheap ones like Miss Sporty etc.

I tried Faux Cils and found it great for a few weeks, but then it got all weird in the tube really quickly and I felt like I'd wasted my money.

I like the Benefit creaseless eyeshadows, but I'm not keen on their Bad Gal mascara - I'll stick with Chanel.

I'd used Clarins foundation for years, but I recently tried Lancome, and I prefer it.

My problem has always been lippy. Whatever the brand, it just dries my lips out. However, I've now found Virgin V lip blush. It's a lip stain + gloss, and for the first time I don't have to have nude lips.:D

Not necessarily, more expensive brands are sometimes better for the skin that cheap glittery ones.

I love Benefit! I must admit though that it was the packaging that first caught my eye, and some of the stuff isn't great, but I love their Dandelion blush, Some Kinda Gorgeous foundation, High Beam, Posietint and a few others. A lot of the stuff I'm not all that interested in, but out of the stuff I've tried, I've been impressed. Urban Decay are great for eyeshadows and their primer potion is fabulous, despite the impractical.packaging/ As for Mac, I don't actually own any due to my local area not selling it. If it was easier to get hold of then I'd have probably tried some.

As for High St brands, I like Boots No7 and Barry M; their dazzle dusts are amazing!

YSL mascara is the best one i've ever had without a doubt
love smashbox photo finish face primer
urban decay for eyeshadows/eyeliners..i love doing my eyes for a night out :)
    clinique powder
at the moment i'm using loreal foundation, it's ok but i don't love it..yet to find my perfect foundation though i have my eye on a MAC one :p
benefit dandelion blusher - though i agree some of their products are overrated.

I love Clinique foundation. Soft Finish Soft Vanilla. It' IS so soft and stays on ages. and I use their clarifying powder and glossy mascara. And with Clinique Bonus Time, you get so many free gifts. Love it!
But I agree with another poster who says they're a bit boring. I get eyeshadows and lippies from loadsa sources.

Always on the lookout for the ultimate eyeliner pen though!

I find MAC Powerpoint pretty good. Stays on most of the day. I've tried a good few eyeliners, some cheap and some expensive, and the MAC is the best one I've found. It leaks very slightly sometimes but the line stays.

My fave foundation in Clinique Superfit. Teamed with their powder it stays on all night without sliding off my face. Still looks as good at the end of the night as it was when I applied it!

Eyeshadows and liners - well it has to be Urban Decay. Lovely strong pigments and they stay on!!

I'm a fan of a few Benefit products. Their 'Perfect 10' highlighter/blusher is amazing and just gives me an amazing 'glow' with killer cheekbones and is soooo easy to apply! Their 'Badgal' mascara is great too but I found it would smudge on a night out. They have a waterproof version now which I've just bought but I haven't tested it yet.....I'll keep you posted as to how it performs!!!

I recently bought a Maybelline mascara, it was awful. It was the pink one with a blue lid, said no clumps, and separation and waterproof, waterproof is right i could get it off for ages, and it was horribly clumpy and had it for a week and a half, have now thrown it away and gone back to my trusty Maxfactor, their new false las effect.
