BAFTAs for Dr Who: A fix!

It is, I tell you!
Doctor Who's Billie Piper, who plays the Time Lord's sidekick Rose Tyler, accepted the award for best drama series on stage with a dalek.

Well of course they'd win it! There's no other drama series with daleks in it!

*mumble*punctuation*mumble*

Still, it cheered me up.

I think it's being misread as "With a dalek, Billie accepted the award for best Drama...." rather than "Best drama with a dalek was accepted by Billie"

Very good - you'd better tell them to watch the new 'grammar quiz' on BBC4!

I am sure the Pioneer Audience Vote received multiple entries from fans but it won and I am not going to take that away from it. I was far more impressed that it won Best Drama given that BAFTA are snobs!

Oh I geddit now. Surely though it would need to have said "..best drama series with a dalek" for that gag to have worked properly...?

Well, I guess 'best drama series on stage with a dalek' could be the live action musical version...

The Pioner Award webpage required voters to register, so Who's victory in this category wasn't down to mutliple entries.

My only gripe is DT's habit of wearing his Prince Charlie Jacket with a waistcoat AND belt. It's one or other. These modern timelords and their fancy ways.
    Belt and Jacket, Good
    Waistcoat and Jacket also good
    Waistcoat, Jacket and Belt...no.
    Other than that
I'm delighted on the winning of the BAFTAs.
    Congratulations.

Where was CE when these awards were given out

I would think the award was based on the episodes he was in not DT

It's as though he never exsisted

perhaps Chris declined the invitation to attend or he was busy filming.

CE never goes to awards ceremonies he missed all of them last year even when he was named best actor at the National Television awards Russel T Davies picked it up on his behalf.

I think this a lesson to other programmes. Include daleks in your dramas and you may have a chance of winning too. I'd vote for them!

No, daleks have had their chance there. Always on it and never done a thing.

Do you think that having to put up with the BP presenters was what triggered his little problem in the first place, BG?

Hint: the winners of the special awards (Dennis Potter) know in advance before hand - so in this case there was a definite DW-related BAFTA win.

The Dennis Potter award: for most deformed hand whilst writing your final drama!
