Shep, John Noakes' dog on Blue Peter. Closely followed by Spotty Dog from The Woodentops.

Current favourite is the little Pug having a wash in the ITV continuity clip. So cute. Pugwash :D

Also adore Sykes from Midsomer Murders/Harvey's ad.

Mutley and Roobarb steal it as well. :)

Forgot about Roobarb, though TBF, Custard the pink cat from next door, and the birds really made it. I loved the fact that the birds had teeth inside their beaks when they laughed.

No mention of Dougal then, not surprised really, Dylan was the star..

I love to see Pudsey but 'Eddie' (Moose) was a class act too.

ETA: Oh, blimey, blimey. Forgot Gromit. Gromit rocks!

I was just going to post that, I love Alsations. The other was Rin Tin Tin, another Alsation.

Many younger DSers won't remember them:)

Rin Tin Tin......Blimey that takes me back to days long gone, woodbush. Fancy you remembering that!

Edit: There was a dog in Four Feather Falls as well, Dusty. I loved these two programmes. I was so innocent in those days!

I'm an Alsation owner and was doing some research on my first dog, 40 years ago, and came across the Rin Tin Tin website. My first Alsation had the sire who was a best of breed at Crufts, Rossfort Premonition, went to Australia.

Had a bit of a read and found they are still breeding from the original dog but don't sell breeding dogs.

I remember seeing the films in the 50s when I was a wee lad:)
