  He rings up Clara on the phone. He's ringing from before he regenerates and she gets it in Ep1 of Series 8.

  Apparently so. Whether we hear it or not I don't think is certain or known but there will be a phone call from Eleven to Clara that helps her accept the change to Twelve and it ties in with the Tardis phone hanging off its receiver as seen towards the end of the Xmas special.
