I'm guessing since we have a vita. If I try remote playing from the bedroom where ps tv would likely go, then if that works fine, shouldn't be a reason ps tv doesn't also work Wirelessly the same.

Yeah I was thinking about purchasing homeplugs for the bedroom, can i connect a tp link switch box to a homeplug it so I can wire up multiple devices in my bedroom?

I used to do something like that a few years ago & it worked fine. Can't remember if it slowed things down as my internet was slow back then anyway so wouldny have noticed a difference but it worked for me. It was a sagem one I use but can't really remember much else about it

Might be a silly question but if this is essentially a vita with an hdmi out and you can connect your controller. Can you sync a controller to a vita ?

Has anyone tested playing a proper ps4 game through pstv on wifi? When I say proper ps4 game I mean something like infamous, watchdogs, Fifa, pro evo, destiny? Just curious how it performs, smooth as silk? or like Man United's Defence?

Smooth as silk via wifi! 👍 .. Played wolfenstein & Driveclub! 😎

(I am using a top notch £200 AC linksys router tho which is probably why!) 😇

Hey guys I've noticed there's a DNLA media player on the PSTV! 👍 ... is there one on the psvita store? ... (Not @ home atm so can't check!) 😥

(Hopefully the likes of netflix, Amazon, bbciplayer etc etc shouldn't be far off!) 😎

I intend to give mine a try later today (if I get the chance).

Yeah, there's a Network Media Player app on the vita.

Found in Apps -> TV & Movie Apps

The PSTV has a *wifi power saving option* (just like the vita) should I switch it off or leave it on? ... My downloads keep pausing (when PSTV enters standby-mode) & it's irritating as hell! 👎

I'm also interested in your wifi results! ... Hope you get a decent smooth experience! 😎 ... Otherwise homeplugs (or an extra long ethernet cable) might be in order! 😇

I've with sky so just have black sky hub box sr101, does the job I need it for around my house pretty well in terms of WiFi connected devices, I'd image new pstv is more demanding.

I'm about to head into town which has an Argos and currys mini store, looking at getting pstv, can anyone recommend good set of home plugs for my bedroom? Tp-link perhaps?

What I'm looking at doing is setting up homeplugs connection, then in my bedroom I'd connect homeplug to a tp-link gigabit switch which would then wire up all my devices including pstv box.

    Think this will work?

Took the risk, traded Forza Horizon 2 towards PSTV (bored of it) and purchased a pair of tp link gigabit homeplugs from maplin (price matched Argos at £34.99.

Connected a spare tp link gigabit switch to my bedroom home plug so I can wire up my other devices along with pstv.

Got it all set up and working, it ain't bad you know, Linked up to ps4 no problem, played a game of pes2015, beat Man U 3-1 with Man City on Superstar level, gameplay appeared jittery but response was pretty much spot on so can't complain too much so far, gotta test other games at some point, GTA 5 & Far cry 4 coming Tuesday.

Well, I finally managed to get it to link to the PS4 (directly, for some reason it wouldn't find it through the router) and for the most part it worked. I had a couple of drop outs over about a 30 min period but I'll look into it more another time.

The most frustrating part was the PS4 controller, which I can't seem to stop controlling the PS4 when I want it to work with the PSTV. I had to connect a PS3 controller instead.

Have you plugged dualshock 4 into pstv box then turned it on? Are your pstv and ps4 near each other?

It sounds like the DS4 is synced to both PS4 & PSTV @ the same time! lol :o

(Apart from the noticeable drop in visual quality (720p) during ps4 remoteplay I'm perfectly happy with mine) :)

(IF playstation now is similar (but in 1080p) im gonna be well pleased)

I can't see how ds4 controls both pstv and ps4 at the same time, I took my ds4 back downstairs and pressed the main button on ds4 thinking it might turn my ps4 on but it didnt, it simply turned on my pstv upstairs which surprised me but what it does show is my ds4 is synced to pstv only, to get it to sync back to ps4 is just a case of plugging back into ps4 and turning on again.

PS NOW , that's the new stream based gaminh service coming next year isn't it?

Potentially brilliant if it works well, I wonder if my old digital ps3 purchases can be used on it without having to pay again

To be honest I'm not sure how PS now works, is it pay a fee and play what you want?

An £80 per year sub for the unlimited NOW / PS+ experience (like Thomas suggested awhile ago) would do me! ;-)

It was the first thing I did:blush: The PS4 is upstairs and the TV down, but connectivity in the house has always been fine, to the point that I've accidentally turned on my consoles with spare controllers in other parts of the house:D

Ok so you have your ps4 upstairs, and the playstation TV downstairs for remote play?

Can you give a quick overview of your setup in your home network, how is everything connected up etc

How are Vita games looking on the larger screen? I'll only be hooking my PSTV to a 32" TV so can't imagine them looking too bad on a screen that size
