Some are a little tricky as I don't watch each and every genre regularly:

    Sci Fi - District 9

Action - Terminator 2: Judgment Day

    Period Drama - Atonement

Romance - When Harry met Sally

    Comedy - The Hangover

Horror - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

    Animated - The Lion King

    Epic - Titanic

Disaster - The Day After Tomorrow

Western - Back to the Future Part III (lol I don't watch this genre much at all)

    Musical - Grease

There are a couple of genres missing, too. I would add:

    Crime / Thriller: Double Indemnity

    Fantasy: Pan's Labyrinth.

Also, the trouble with genres is that many of the great films are great because they don't fit nicely in one little pigeonhole.

What genre would you file The Godfather under? Or 12 Angry Men? The Seventh Seal?

Well, OK, but that covers the vast majority of all the films ever made.
