Your money is your own
Watch what u want on the telly
No nagging burd moaning 24/7
Go out when you want
Shag anyone you want
No fear of the other half claiming half your assetsafter the inevetible break up

Why do so many people get married?

I've been single and enjoyed playing the field, but that gets boring after a while. I enjoy being married.

A joint income means we can do a lot more than a single income. I can always watch what I want on telly. She doesn't nag me at all. I can still go out when I want.I can't shag who I want granted, but I've done plenty of that already. Fingers crossed we won't break up! For me the positives outweigh the negatives tenfold.

    Enjoy being in a relationship?

You have double the money because two people are earning.
Have interesting conversations with someone who is watching the same TV show as you.
Someone who will listen to your moaning.
Always having someone to go out with.
    Shag someone you love.
Ability to buy better assets because you have double the money.

Dunno, maybe you can ask yourself that when you're 57 years old, balding, huge stomach, doing some cheap hooker in a motel room?

There are good and bad sides. I sometimes wish I could answer to no-one and do what I want but on the other hand I can understand how it can be lonely. My husband took my 3 sons on a camping trip one weekend and I was so looking forward to the weekend to myself. I went out with my pal on the Friday and that was great. On the Saturday I got up late and watched a bit of telly, did some housework and then contacted a few friends to see what they were up to that day, they were all doing stuff with their families. Saturday night I got a chinese and a bottle of wine and sat there eating and drinking by myself and on the Sunday I was going stir crazy, was relieved when they finally got home. A few hours later I was beginning to see the benefits of single life though lol - grass is always greener and all that!

I've never had a relationship so I wouldn't know but from the amount of times my friends have cried on my shoulder about their partners i'd say i'm probably the happier one.

My situation at the moment makes it difficult for me to have a proper relationship with anyone, no matter how much I would love to have one, I sometimes envy those who do have a partner, but caring for a family member comes first - blood thicker than water!

OP, the condition you describe is that of cohabitation, married or otherwise - not necessarily of "singledom"!

You can have a relationship with someone without necessarily living with them...
