So why isn't "Colin" in the new ads??

    I don't understand that.

Has he snuffed it and she has gone loopy thinking he is still there :D

Same actress as those cringing travel insurance ads where it seems some firms would refuse to cover you for having BUNions (as she says it) before she goes off to Venice 'with the girls'.
My 90-year-old mother, in a care home with mobility problems but all her marbles intact said that if she ever spots Colin's wife, she'll beat her to death with her walker. :D And that if she (my mother) overbalances and breaks both hips while committing this murder, it will still be worth it.

I think i've just seen the very worst of the pretentious perfume ads ever.

    Chanel No5
With the end song from Grease sang in slow motion

The nono hair remover (or whatever it's called) That woman's voice drones on forever >:( As soon as it comes on I hit mute, and can't believe for how long this ad goes on for, it must cost a fortune.

Can't remember exactly what it's for, one of those comparison websites I think, but the "wiggle workout" ad with the Mr Motivator lookalike. Grown up, educated people come up with these ideas you know, incredible!

I know the one you mean. I don't remember what it is for like most ads now.

They treat the viewers as thicko's imo >:(

Advertising isn't as expensive as you might think in the middle of the day. Think the time is sold in 'slots', which I think is 30 seconds, with a slot costing anything from £50 for Border TV, £650 for Meridian to £1,700 for London. Evenings cost much, much more.

They get he cost back easily from the mugs who try burning off (a heat source is what a thermacon tip is) their hair from the sales to those who keep the thing and like it, those who don't like it but don't bother to send it back for a refund and those who do send it back but the company doesn't refund the postage.

Interesting, I've always wondered if those charity begging ads. get a special discount slot on Sky News; I always seem to see the one around 1720 every day.
Probably nothing compared to the production costs though - I don't think ad agencies do pro-bono work ;-)

:D:D:D the woman who does a summersault, is that a man wearing one of the dresses?

After that I've changed my mind about catwalk models. It really is a skill bit everyone can do so maybe they deserve what they get paid

WTF?? :o Please tell me this is a spoof advert..

It's a modern day spoof. The travel agent is a small independent travel agent in the dilapidated town of Kilwinning in Ayrshire, Scotland (not a dig at Kiwinning, all town centres in Ayrshire, Lanarkshire & Renfrewshire are dilapidated, with the exception of Glasgow City Centre).

Apparently the manager/owner of the travel agent had seen one of the Virgin Atlantic adverts from a couple of years ago and decided to make a comical spoof of this commerical to drum up a little extra business. They used Kilwinning Bowling Club to have a launch night for the commerical and they invited all the local residents to come along and watch (and also offered a chance to win a holiday). After this they decided to post the ad on Youtube and from there it somehow went viral.

The only thing is that if you watch the advert online from the original link in this forum, if you read the description on Youtube you will see that the travel agent has removed this advert from their channel and it has been reloaded by 'The Poke'.

I also like the fact that they felt the need to put a massive copyright warning at the end of the advert, when it appears they have broken copyright themselfs by the use of Mickey & Minnie Mouse (and I'm certain they haven't paid The Walt Disney Corp the massive licencing and clearance fees that Disney demands for the commerical use of their characters, for a start the costumes look to be unauthorised cheap knockoffs).

I wonder if someone from disney has contacted the travel agent and told them to takedown the original youtube post down due to Copyright Infringement?

What's with covering a song and slowing it down...

The ad with The Jam "That's Entertainment" don't know who the singer is or what's advertised.

Just seen another Barclays advert, this time it was a girl stood there reading a letter and using words like "totes amazeballs" and "lol" and stuff...I was just stood there thinking, you'd have to be sooo stupid and thick to even consider using them words when applying for a job...also, she didn't give constant eye contact (unlike the other one lol)

The ones, for M&S depicting the sort of young women, who wouldn't be seen dead in M&S, wearing clothes in which they wouldn't be seen dead in, if they were purchased anywhere else.
    They've really got no idea.

Plusnet: "£2.50 doesn't get you a lot these days - it doesn't even get you past the opening credits."

Where does the script writer go if £2.50 only gets you about three minutes of a film? (It's clearly not Showcase Cinemas - Be a member of their Insider club (cost to join: £0) and you can get entry to a film between 7pm on Sunday and the close of business on Tuesday for £6.)

    All bank adverts are terrible.

Halifax have people singing, or champion supposed individuals, while Nationwide and Co-op have sickly sweet voices making you want to vomit, respectively saying, "Nationwide - on your side" and "Co-operative - Here for you, for life"

    AAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I just saw that. 99.9% APR?!! :o
I couldn't believe the small print example on the screen. 24 monthly payments of £119. Total repayable: £2,854!!! :o
That's over 90% more than you started with!

So as well as rip off directory enquiries, they now do rip off loans!

    Agreed Absolutely.
And why is there always an inane grinning vulture waiting at the door to greet customers on these adverts....it would scare me away.

Just give a decent rate of savings interest.
