Its very dire tbh i never really liked it once nick left and the fact that they have set the show 30 years in the future means the writers think its so good it will last for 30 years

I've never been a fan anyway but this is dreadful and they've even managed to stretch it out to a full hour!

Give me Terry and June any day over this.:p

It's a bit of a cop out using old clips for a Christmas special.

Seems like every show I've tuned into the "Xmas Special" of over the last two days has been nothing but a compilation review of the last year.

Seems that they can't be bothered and just leave it up to an editor. (Cheaper as well!)

They only showed two old clips. The rest of the flashbacks are new.

I got through five minutes before turning over.

No comic timing, actors shouting their lines, the audience too loud, and the script isn't funny. What an utter load of old shit.

They only used two old clips so far, the other two flashbacks, are newly filmed, as part of the episode.

Is it just me that thinks that these flashbacks to their bad Christmas days are brand new. I haven't seen these before.

I agree - might've been better if they hadn't set it 30 years in the future. No wonder Lindsay and Wanamaker have threatened to quit over the scripts!

The first few series when Nick was still in it were good, but its been dire ever since he left. I honestly dont know anyone who watches it and yet we are led to believe its the most popular sitcom on TV today?

Know I'm in the minority but I hated the Nick character and was glad to see him go.

Ithink it still is the most popular sitcom on TV looking at the last 2 series ratings they are still very high.

has anyone got any ratings for the last 2 series?

Big My Family Fan here, but yeah.....it's been a disappointing episode.

Think an hour was a bit ambitious. Hopefully it'll be back on track for the new series.

It was dire. Robert Lindsay, though - I still would.
