Words fail me. Apparently the organiser says its just voters being 'satirical', then he goes on to blame the magazine for people getting hurt in protest marches in Pakistan and Niger.

I guess no one from the magazine turned up to collect the award as they were all shot dead.

Other winners of Islamophobia awards handed out included:

Theresa May, who I have never heard utter an anti-Muslim sentiment
The popular film American Sniper
A Muslim called Maajid Nawaz who apparently is Islamophobic because he criticises hardline Islamic fundamentalists.
Fox News - ok they may have a point there!

Islamaphobia as a concept shouldn't really exist though, because there is nothing irrational about being averse to or nervous of Islam.

Another Islamist "charity" which has received funding from the Joseph Rowntree Trust.

Mark Steyn described this award as dancing in the blood of the dead. Which is exactly what it is.

I don't like Islam, does that make me an Islamaphobe? Why don't I like it? Surely no explanation needed!

That's fair enough - a public vote, after all.

Let's face it, they deserve it.

If Islamaphobe means scared of a religion where even the most moderate discriminate against gay people and women, then yes I am. I'm bloody terrified of them having any influence in this country

The award or the end that the staff suffered?

My congratulations to all of the winners :)

I honestly think that the murdered Charlie Hebdo cartoonists would have been proud to receive such an award.

If you'd said "it deserved it" it would be clear you were talking about a magazine, "they" makes it sound like you meant the staff.

And there we have it - misinterpretation. You fell into that trap.

Of course they can. British Islamists have started to show their true colours this year. First the anti-free speech protests in London, then the laughable apologism for Emwazi and now this.

So they can have this in big writing on their front cover in the same way that papers have 'newspaper of the year' - as a proper "we fart in your general direction" response?

Just taking the english language as read, a misinterpretation is just that and not a trap.

The other people on that list are probably now scared that their contribution has been noted and they're next.

Islam, what's your view do like it or not, not a loaded question just asking.

A so called 'anti-terrorist' charity giving out awards. It's adding insult to injury and victim blaming.

I don't like or dislike any religion. I'm just interested.
