Stargate sg1 (wow)
The Amazing Race (the best)
John
PS Just noticed how many fans of mythbusters there are, which is really good, as its not that well known and hidden away on one of the none mainstream channels. It really is a gem, if you've not seen it, it really is worth the effort.
Existing shows I started watching in 2005:
The Apprentice UK series 1 and US series 2
Desperate Housewives
Frasier
Dream Team ('I'd been aware of it but we only got SKy this year)
Nd I've seen bits of the Tonight Show and Jay Leno's good!
Rediscovered Neighbors which is scary
Rediscovered Spooks and now need to buy series 2 on DVD
Catherine Tate
All the modern updates to Shakespere recently shown
Loved Dr Who ( hated it as a child)
Supernova the bbc2 comedy with Rob Bryden
Love Soup
Doc Martin
Taggart back on form
Got into Alias when I noticed the first season available to rent in my local video store. Went out tand bought Series 2 and 3.
Like lots of people we found Mythbusters, but another great gem no one's mentioned yet - "How it's made". Quite simply watching how really mundane everyday objects are made - yet totally fascinating.
Love How Its Made, though it is a bit simplistic in places, would like to see a bit more detail. Loved the one on Lollipops, always wondered how they got the ice cream in the middle.
Mythbusters has to be one of the best dicoveries of the year. Two nerds doing nerdy things, fantastic.
Also (don't know if this will count) the new Battlestar Galactica. Absolutely fantastic series, best TV show to come out of America for ages.
Have caught House on odd occassions, but everytime it's kept me glued to the screen till the end.
My discoveries of 2005 are:
CSI NY
Departure Lounge
All of the NFL/College Football output on NASN,also Pardon the Interuption(the funniest sportshow on tv!) also on NASN
Taggart(brill!!)
Meerkat Manor(Animal Planet-best animal soap on the box)
CSI - Original, NY and Miami - all about 3 months ago.
Saw in the TV guide that Holly Valance was in CSI Miami and thought "hhhmm .. nothing else on so i'll see what she's up to".
Instantly hooked and through the power of the online DVD rental companies i've now watched the entire season 1 of CSI miami and first half of season 2. Also caught up on CSI:NY and have just finished watching season 1 of original CSI.
Also discovered:
House
Grey's Anatomy
Battlestar Galactica(2005 version)
