Where is the Blue Sky then?

What has happened to it? In winter you can get a fairly deep crisp looking blue sky but here is summer it may start off that but as the days go on it gets more paler and today here even though the forecast is warm & sunny, the sky looks a very hazy white sky and a touch of pale blue.

Why don't we get the deeper blue here these days and it seems to be more common these days of it pale looking? is it because of the stagnant air and pollution that makes it hazy and not a crisp clear summer sky?

Blanket pale grey skies in Brighton. A little bit of light poking through now, though.

it's a lighter colour in summer presumably because of the humidity.

We've got clear 'blue' skies over here in Derby but the OP is correct, in that the sky isn't quite as blue right now as it is during the winter and spring, at least at the moment. Maybe it's a regional thing, sea thing or humidity thing?

High Humidity and pollution makes it paler.

Seems to be a lot of high haze in the sky and the sun out, does feel more humid, sticky today and hotter :( I don't mind it being warm or hot as long as there is nice cool breeze to go with it then i feel fine.

I can bet your life that when i see the sky go more of a creamy white then a thunderstorm maybe on the cards sooner or later, maybe that's what is needed to clear the air.

Very warm, humid and sunny here in the North East.

Non-air conditioned office as well, and I'm on holiday next week so I'm clock-watching. Really need to sort out the bits I need to do before 5.30 <sigh>.

Surely you can't afford nice weather up there?

Lovely here in the SW - blue skies and sunny, but a lot cooler and more breezy than yesterday.

It's going to be the hottest day of the year tomorrow, in to the low 90's and we're going to buy a puppy!! Phew, hope it's okay in the car coming home.

    Maybe it's Nibiru.

In the NE it's been as hot as I can remember for a long time - reaching 27-28 according to wunderground. I was hiding in the garage at the time, but thankfully the sky is a bit hazy now.

We had a lovely covering of cloud in Norfolk this morning, so I went out and made sure I was back home just as the cloud broke up. I hate hot sun.
