Beyond happy for Dominic, Danny, Kellie, Linda, Timothy, Matt and all the Eastenders team collectively. They really pulled it off. Incredibly well deserved
This week's offering has been absolutely stellar, regardless of the almost inevitable negativity this forum will forever cite. Eastenders is, without question, the best it's been since early 2010, and for that; all Eastenders fans should be thrilled. Upon the New Year, Dom's Christmas performance has now given me some faith that he'll be successful in ironing out those yet to be approached issues (namely pacing), allowing for the show to fully return to it's absolute best. Bring it on, right?
Four times in a row that EastEnders have beaten Corrie. With massive plots in the pipeline (the NYD mystery death, Kat's sexual abuse being revisited, Ian and Jane's wedding, Lucy's killer reveal etc.) I hope this is the beginning of EastEnders overtaking Corrie in the overnights. I love Corrie and want to see a return to form. Sadly, this won't happen until its overnight figures slip below its competitor.

EastEnders has done well but still a long way to go. EastEnders has to do well consistently in overnights AND consolidated ratings.
EastEnders have made a very promising start to the New Year and it's great to see that they've already surpassed their highest overnight figure in 2014 (8.4 million for the Lucy aftermath episode). They've also beaten Corrie's overnights on five consecutive occasions now.
1. NEW YEAR'S EVE FIREWORKS (WED 2359): 12.5m
2. MRS BROWN'S BOYS (THU 2136): 9.51m
3. MIRANDA (THU 2000): 9.51m
4. QUEEN AND ADAM LAMBERT ROCK BIG BEN LIVE (WED 2410): 9.47m
5. EASTENDERS (THU 2037): 9.26m
6. CORONATION STREET (MON 1932): 8.74m
7. ESIO TROT (THU 1831): 7.86m
8. EMMERDALE (MON 1901): 7.1m
9. LAST TANGO IN HALIFAX (SUN 2100): 7.02m
10. STILL OPEN ALL HOURS (SUN 1930): 6.9m
Why is Corrie timeshifting so well? Is it because the ads are stripped?
Itv player is not that good compared to its PBS counterpart? So is it catchup on sky etc? Is this a true reflection until Iplayer views are factored into the mix?
