The listings for Showcase/261 from next Monday show mostly country music programmes, as expected since 'Keep It Country' is due to launch.
However, some regular Showcase programmes are still listed including the Caravan Channel and MotorHome Channel, along with Teleshopping from 6am-1pm, so 'Keep It Country' isn't exactly the 24 hour country channel which they're marketing it as.
I wonder what will happen to Heyday TV which has been on Showcase for a long time, broadcasting mainly classic-rock music documentaries for several hours each day.
According to the Keep It Country TV official Facebook page, contractual ties mean that these non-country shows will continue to be shown until their contracts expire at the end of February, at this point Keep It Country TV becomes a full 24 hours channel.
It officially launches next Monday 25th Jan at 1pm.

I wonder if it will then move to the music genre using the Planet slot?

EPG regulations state that it should join a genre at the end in the next available slot and NOT in any empty slot unless the broadcaster has purchased that slot from the previous broadcaster.

I'm aware of that but as Planet was at the end of the music slot, and under FRND rules, that would, currently, be the position it would reside at.
There is a right5 in EU law that if you are within a footprint of a PSB broadcast, you have the right to receive that service - if you so wish. I can't remember the exact regulation but I will try to find out.

There is yes. I remember discussing the possibility of legal action against Sky by the use of this legislation because they were using non standard parameters that Sky STB's couldn't handle.
It was either the symbol rate or the FEC and I think if may have been fixed now.
From Monday 1st February, Channel 5+24 becomes a full time +24 channel, instead of only running from 7pm-midnight. The news isn't repeated and is replaced by Neighbours instead, but almost everything else is shown.

You don't 'give' any channels to Éire. Greetings from the Irish mainland.

Are they using the extra bandwidth to increase the quality of each channel?
I'd love to think every broadcaster would do this but sadly they never will. It will be used to cram another HD service in.

"54052" and "54057" (left over from transponder change) have been removed

My hopes for Spike HD are gone then....
For now I'm afraid so. Maybe Sky will Hoover this behind a cosy pay deal once C5 HD goes FTA?
Some of the Spike programs are available from OnDemand in HD
Can hope eh
