Paramount Television is essentially using titles like Minority Report and Ghost because their back catalogue of TV shows is owned by CBS. In fact, Paramount have a license to make Star Trek films as they have film rights but CBS own the franchise and TV rights although I imagine if Star Trek did return to TV, it would be a coproduction between CBS and Paramount

They've not hung about on starting the cross promotion - neighbours already being plugged on MTV classic - makes a change from the usual Geordie catfish virgins....

slightly off topic, but ive seen some daytime C5 (various reasons) at the moment, and I find it kinda amusing to have promos for Prisoner Cell Block H during Neighbours, its like a time wrap. You can also count Dallas as well.

Actually that doesn't seem a bad channel to advertise Neighbours on as it may be more of crossover then the MTV trailers.

Apart from Iron Man because that film is now owned by Walt Disney Pictures (as of July 2013) but that means BBC Two might airing the Marvel Cinematic Universe films by then.

The whole website needs a re-brand in my view, Also I would think a link to the Channel 5 website will be added to the Viacom owned sites in due course including http://mtv.co.uk

Also there is the Viacom thing that is on the footer of MTV website that needs to be added to the Channel 5 website instead of Channel 5 Broadcasting Ltd.

There are 4 different fonts in use on that page, together with old information and outdated logos. A perfect example of how messed up the channel is as a whole. Viacom have their work cut out for them with any rebrand they should be planning / ready to launch.

In one of the first on air changes since Viacom's acquisition was confirmed, the channel's presentation was refreshed yesterday. No new idents but promos, break bumpers and menus have been updated.

Thats a whole lot nicer than other channels, although it probably doesnt look as good on broadcast compared to Vimeo.

They still squish the credits very small, even with a massive HD TV I doubt you'd be able to read them

Hopefully 5* & 5USA are next for a rebrand, unless they have other plans!

They should get rid of +24 and turn it into a movie channel.

A movie channel will only work if it was on air after midnight for some of the films.

5* should merge with Viva and make the existing channel become 5Movies. 5USA is a good performer but need more exclusive content

This is the company that has two DOGS on their music video channels.

Surely they can bring back The Daily Show to terrestrial TV; seeming as it's a Comedy Central programme.

And not just the Global Edition..!

There's now a promo informing viewers that "the fun continues on Nick Jr!" at the end of MIlkshake.

Meanwhile, something seems to have changed with the playout of the channel. The fade to black between programme trailers is now happening slightly too late, once the trailer has already started. And for the first time in C5's history, there's no longer a "breakflash" between the ads.

I don't think break fillers are needed. Also they should only have warnings at the start of the programs and not in between programs as it ruins the flow of Wentworth Prison.

It's weird to watch C5 and not see the breakflashes. Hard to conclude the channel hasn't lost some of its identity in doing that.

That said, the new style they introduced on Monday was the only element of the new on air presentation that didn't quite work, and maybe they felt the same. It was too OTT.

The original and the best was the old multi coloured strip:

What's up with that? It's so OTT. They aired a content warning at the start; it doesn't need airing after every commercial break. People watching Wentworth know what to expect.

They did the same thing during the preceding programme Can't Pay? We'll Take it Away!

Every single part was preceded by a separate warning. Definitely felt excessive.

    this is normal for Viacom/MTV.
