What are people's thoughts on this? at the very least I find it quite strange for well known political figures amongst others to be involved in such a ceramony. Each year Bohemian Grove hosts a 2 week retreat for some of the worlds most powerful men (men only from what Ive read)

The ceremony in the video is the cremation of care where mock sacrifice to the owl god Moloch (theres a 40ft Owl statue there) is carried out.

Theres a lot more info here

I honestly dont know what to make of it, rich men having harmless fun, or more sinister?

It's all very weird isn't it? I've read about it too. It seems to be a lot of corporate chairmen and politicians getting together in the woods. It tends to be Republicans too. I've seen pictures of Nixon and Reagan there and both Bush's too.

I know people may start posting about tin foil and conspiracies but it is very odd.

Yeah, it's very weird! Jon Ronson's book Them has a big bit about it, and is about £1 on the Kindle just now *random recommendation*

I also saw the Jon Ronson documentary and read the book and I don't know what to make of it. It does seem really odd.

This stuff seems similar to freemasonry. It's weird, but then what about all those people who go to church for communion, which is essentially "mock cannibalism".

Ooh, apparently wikileaks has the minutes of some of the old Group meetings:

Put it this way, i would never allow someone who attends "mock" human sacrifices and worships a giant owl while rent boys run around naked in the woods babysit my kids, yet they run our lives.

This thread got me looking for the spot on bing maps and google maps too.

On google it's all very dark colored and low resolution in that area just east of Monte Rio, CA. On bing maps it's really odd as it looks like someone's done a photoshop job and the trees are distorted and swirly. You can see the entrance to the campsite but not the lake. I wanted to see the big owl. :D I'm not suggesting someone's necessarily hiding anything but show me the owl damnit. lol.

Here's a screenshot i took, you can see how warped the area is on bing. http://www.flickr.com/photos/61956688@N08/5631191706/#/photos/61956688@N08/5631191706/lightbox/

I get a message, internet explorer cannot open the Internet site, operation aborted when I click on it, probably just my settings.

I guess it can be compared to other religious ceremonies, except about the secrecy part.
