Would a British version of Cheers work?

I've been watching the repeats of Cheers on CBS Drama and was thinking would a British adaption work. I know a British version of the Cheers spinoff Frasier wouldn't work as you don't get radio psychiatrists here but a British version of Cheers could possibly work, set in a bar in London perhaps or maybe any other city in the country.

i don't think you would need to make a british remake of cheers, just have a comedy set in a pub.

No, the programme makers are too po-faced to allow a comedy set in a bar - drinking  having fun and drinking :eek:
As for all of Sam's conquests, that would be beyond the pale.

Plus, there just isn't the comedy writing talent in the UK any more.

You can get medical people giving advice on radio chat shows here, or you can just make something similar up for artistic purposes.
