Look I'm not trying to sound heartless here, but people swear down on others lives all the time, usually because they know it means sod all. On the surface, yes, it's pretty despicable, but d'you think if it actually meant anything that people would do it? Max wouldn't swear down on Oscar's life, if the lad would actually drop dead based on the lie. Basically, I understand where people are coming from with this opinion, but at the same time I think they're overstating the magnitude of such an act.
It's the principle. Nobody is suggesting that something would actually happen to Oscar, but the fact that he said whilst lying through his teeth is pretty low even for Max.
Which why he isn't good for them. He will always hurt them as he literally can't help himself. The man could only be a decent man with years of therapy because he has some serious issues. Which Jack and his sisters share. Though Carol is mostly a more consistant mother. I blame their dad they had a bad relationship with him. And we see history repeating itself with Lauren and Max.
some people said it might have been better for max to have had an illness rather than tanya. i actually agree with this because although it will be good with tanya i think max would benefit from it more.
Illness wouldn't work. There is no quick fix for his issues, he would have just used his illness to manipulate Tanya and the kids. Therapy is the only thing that could ever change him.
Whereas Tanya has some mummy issues it is more she is immature at times and reverts to being a reckless teen. This illness will mature her and could change her for the better as her behaviour is not pathological. Though I did think she was pathetic trying to pass the buck to Cora on friday. Sorry hun but you cheating on Greg had nothing to do with your mum and dad.
Told Tanya he didn't care what the kids would think, and only cared what they wanted.
Told Tanya that if she went back to Greg he'd tell Vanessa about them so she could tell Greg - he tried to blackmail her!!
Swore on his sons life to bluster a lie.
Told the woman he had been cheating on it was her fault he didn't want her anymore because she has OCD. There by blaming her for the end of the engagement.
Used his son as a human shield so Greg couldn't hit him.
Threw Vanessa's ring away like it was trash.
Told his daughters he'd leave Walford to then walk into Tanya's house and expect to get into Greg's place in the bed even though it's actually Greg's house legally.
And this is also the guy who wanted to walk away from his kids AND Tanya to run off with Stacey not so long ago as at the time he was supposedly madly in love with her. This man is truly the prince charming of Walford, and I don't know how any woman could possibly resist him and how he and Tanya aren't considered the romance of the millenium
And Tanya wants to get back with THAT?
He's an absolute shit and I've said it before but he'd love to have his own personal little Max Harem, one woman will never be enough for this low life. Serve him right if he got some kind of erectile dysfunction that couldn't be cured by viagra!
Having said that though the actor is doing a sterling job. He must be, he actually has people sympathising and taking his side!

they made her lol like someone else said max's problems are from his parents

It's low, yes, I just don't consider it nearly as deplorable as others on the thread seem to. We all have our own opinions, though.

Max's issues are from his dad from what I can see, if not I don't what the Brannings problem is because every sibling has them. Tanya is just being a bit pathetic about her dad dying when she was a teen and about her mum. My dad died when I was a kid but I don't go around cheating on my partner and then trying to blame my mum lol.
Tanya should have got cancer first. Show the strain it had on her marriage. The tension it had on Max and Vanessa's relationship.
Show Max and Tanya getting closer. Tanya uncertain of whether to accept Max into her life. Max learning to be unselfish and think of others.
Both character's would have grown, been sympathetic.
But it wouldn't have been nearly as sensational, the only word in the dictionary Kirkwood actually acknowledges. In saying that, I did enjoy the payoff of the storyline; it was so good that it just about made it worth Max and Tanya acting so despicably (yes, Max and Tanya, folks). Still, you're alternative makes sense for the long term of the show.

no but i think what tanya was trying to say is that cora had no right to say she was in the wrong when she did it herself
I saw it more as Tanya didn't like being called out so tried to turn the tables and start calling out her mum instead. Tanya is one of those people who don't like being criticised so will try and put the subject back on someone else. Tanya saying those things to her mum was pure defensive on her part. And there was an element of 'if you hadn't done this and this then I wouldn't have done this'

But it had nothing to do with the issue at hand, this was about her cheating on Greg it wasn't about her mummy issues from when she was a teen. She only brought it up to get Cora to stop giving her home truths about her behaviour. It was random for her to start going on about her dad when the issue was cheating, like I said defensiveness.

Spot on. She felt embarrassed and guilty so was lashing out. Tanya has one of those 'nice' and quite innocent faces (thanks to Jo Joyner ) but she isn't that nice a lot of the time. She's done some really nasty things while she's been embroiled in this affair with Max yet somehow she's always seen as the victim! Except by her mum of course
I don't like Cora but I like that she could see what Tanya was up to and told her home truths. Tanya would like to believe she hasn't done anything really bad and hasn't been totally selfish. Same with Max who tried to put the issues back on to Vanessa and blame her OCD. They really were vile recently.

She also does that really irritating whispering while looking all sorrowful.

The most scummy thing Tanya did recently besides cheating on her husband was skipping Rainie's soberity ceremony to go and bonk Max. I wanted to slap her so hard then. Both of them have been disgusting little scuzzballs.

I really despised Tanya in that moment. That ceremony meant so much to Rainie...
IKR? she needed and wanted Tanya there, and had all but begged her to come and bonking spudhead was more important. These two have shown just how selfish people can get.

why anyone would want to bonk that ginger lizard is beyond me.

she was planning on going and tried to but max was too pushy and she did feel guilty after

Yes. You have described it perfectly.
That's why Friday was so frustrating. We'd already had this scene between Tanya and Cora, then we get it all again.

I don't doubt he loves his kids in his own way, but HIS wishes and desires will nearly always come first. He is a very selfish man.

Very true. And Cora had none of it.

I think the word is angelic.
Or sexy.

Him and Phil Mitchell get more women in a day than I've had my entire life! Maybe I should go bald and middle-aged...
