    Fast & Furious 7 - 1/10

Dreadful acting, awful script, I'd give it zero, but the sfx crew obviously worked hard on it in a few places.

I'm watching Step Up 2 at the moment.

One of the only dance movies that I like.

    Stalingrad (LINK)

I have been waiting ages to see this movie. Well... it was BIG disappointment. First the good stuff: The sets, visual FX, and overall atmosphere were outstanding. No complaints there.

The bad: Everything else. Poor characterizations (I didn't care about anyone), an out of place love story (completely uninteresting), a poor choice of using a narrator to move the story along (and who may be the dullest narrator I've ever heard on film. He conveyed absolutely no emotion). Another oddity is the "300" style fight choreography that pops up every now and then. I was expecting an epic, sprawling WW2 film about Stalingrad. But this film is neither epic, or sprawling. It mostly takes place in a building in which a group of Russians occupy.

There were some good moments but they've been completely overshadowed by the poor direction, pacing and writing. A disappointing thumbs down for this film. :(

Big Game (2015) - If you're seeing it 'early' and you don't speak Finnish, make sure it has subtitles.
As for the film. Ok for a kids movie
with a "what was that" bit at the end, but Samuel L Jackson didn't feel right for the role of a non-tough President. Seeing him act scared never came across as believable.

    Mad Max: Fury Road 8/10

I heard that the film had really good reviews and since it has been a while since I have gone to the cinema, I thought I'd go and see it which I did yesterday. As I expected to be, the film was disturbing and barbaric. I don't honestly think this it is a film I would watch again, but I did for the most part find it rather gripping and tense.

Mad Max 2-The Road Warrior on my phone.

Mad Max 2-The Road Warrior has to be the best of the original trilogy.

Foxcatcher- 3 stars. It is well acted and directed. Channing Tatum, Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo were all excellent. It is so long winded though and not a lot happens. I appreciate its merit but I have to say I did not particularly enjoy it. I am a fan of slow films as well. I don't decry them as all boring.

Runaway Train- 3 stars. Jon Voight is excellent in this. He is very convincing as a crazy criminal. It did drag a little towards the end and I found the philosophical angle a little slight in its execution.
