    My checklist;

    Lights out
    Make no sound or movement
    Stay at the back of the house the entire evening
    Order take out so I don't have to cook
    Ignore the doorbell

    I think I'm pretty much sorted.
    I might add a little wine to the situation for thrills.

    Not sure ordering a takeaway and ignoring the doorbell is going to work...;-)

    That makes two of us.

    Only I'm not staying at the back of the house, nor turning the lights off.

    I shall just ignore the doorbell.

    Correct.

    If, however, I did, I would not allow them to be duped by this tacky, tawdry American import, nor irritate the neighbours.

    That's pretty much what I'm doing... I hate it. Really annoys me. It's one of the very few things I'm really old fashioned about. Why do people think it's OK to go knocking on people's doors? It must be really quite worrying for elderly people on their own. Urgh. And yes, I realise this makes me grumpy and I will probably get shot down for that!
